Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Mixed feedback
I was excited to receive the REI Co-op Trailmade Skort to test out just as the weather was finally starting to get warm enough to go hike or walk more often. I really wanted to like this product as I've been looking for versatile workout shorts or a skort for a while now. But ultimately after wearing it for ~20 miles of trekking around and putting it through the wash, I have mixed feedback. 3.5 stars rounded up! PROS: - Good length so I didn't have to worry about it riding up or chafing on my thighs (even after an 8-miler) and had enough coverage underneath when sitting - Large side pockets that could fit my phone without any visible bulk under the skirt flap - Shorts have side slits, allowing for full range of movement (see bridge photo) even though the fabric has no stretch - Water repellent fabric made it easy to wipe clean - Seems durable and a good option for future water hikes CONS: - The fit just wasn't right as the waistband barely fit over my hips yet the very boxy shape made my hips and behind look flat - The adjustable belt is flimsy, not stretchy, and can get twisted up in the waistband if washing with the buckle unfastened - The fabric rustles when walking so it's louder than I'd like. I thought that this might go away after washing, but it doesn't - In windy conditions, the skirt does not stay put but rather flaps around (as you can see in my photo with the yellow signs), which is mildly annoying - Fabric somehow has the appearance of being both billowy but wrinkly at the same time so it was really difficult to get a flattering photo in it
Great skort, meh color
I wasn't sure about this skirt when I first got it. I thought the apron like front was a little weird, BUT, when I wore it on a early spring hike, I realized it was pretty awesome. I loved that even when my thighs were causing the shorter inseam to ride up a little, no one else could tell. The pockets are roomie enough to fit a phone, and I appreciated the zippered back pocket for securing an ID card. Although I haven't worn it in the water, I think the apron front will have a nice fall when in and out of the lake this summer. The fabric is similar to other river shorts that I have. The only negative I have is the color - Papaya was a little too orange for my preferences, and with a more round bootie, it made me a little self conscious that I looked like a pumpkin from the back.
REI SKORT
I wore a medium. I’m 5’4 125 lbs. and athletic. A small would have been better but the belt on this made it spork comfortably. I love in Santa Barbara and I immediately threw this on over my leggings and hit the trails with my dogs. The pockets are large enough to securely hold my gps and phone.
great fitting fun skort for all ages
This skort is a winner in all aspects. It is true to size. Wonderful color with a great green contrasting belt that just adds more fun to the skort. I am 72 and was afraid that it might be too short but it was just right. Does not ride up while hiking or just walking around town so no tugging and pulling. This will definitely go with my on my hiking trip to the Alps this summer.
Good quality but didn't work for my body type
This was an excellent skirt! Unfortunately the sizing didn't quite work for our needs but the quality was very high. I think the addition of a cinch-able belt was a very intelligent idea because it allows for a bit more adjustability.
Great for scampering around trails and creeks
Listing some pros and cons here, but bottom line: I'm excited to scramble around in the Big Sur River in these this summer! Pro: Roomy fit with a built in belt for just-right fit. Con: Almost too roomy, not that flattering on the back (short-style) side. (i recently lost some weight and would probably size down next time) Pro: Quick dry material and mesh pockets for impromptu dips Con: Pockets hang loose so things like phones feel heavy and bounce around Con: Not my favorite color, a bit bright, would prefer something more neutral to go with a variety of tops Pro: No one will lose me on the trail!
Great Hiking Skort
Love these. With the adjustable belt you can wear them below your backpack belt which makes an easy on/off for back country potty breaks. Roomy pockets. Wore them hiking in hit weather and they wear breathable and quick drying. Can be worn multiple days without washing. Bought a second pair after I used the first ones camping in Yosemite.
This skort doesn’t play around
Very rugged skort. The zippered pocket on the back is excellent. It was a little bigger/baggier than I was expecting; I perhaps could have sized down. I’m not sure I understand the point of a rugged skort, admittedly, but if you want the look of a skirt with the features of hiking shorts, this garment is for you.
Love this skort, will buy more
I have a tendency to get too warm/hot while hiking so I rarely wear long pants or tights. Skorts are my favorite to hike in because they're comfortable, loose, and aren't constructed too tightly at the crotch. I would choose this skort over the ones I already own because I like that it has a belt (not just elastic), that it is fairly short so I get more range of motion, and that it has several roomy pockets, including a zipped one. I'll probably end up buying this in another color. I might size down, too. The small fits pretty well but I tightened the belt a lot.
All around great summer skort!
Perfect skirt to hike or play pickleball, golf, etc….. I am getting more- why only 2 colors
