Features

  • ChromaPop lenses enhance contrast and natural color to make details pop by filtering 2 specific wavelengths of light that cause color confusion
  • BirdsEye Vision clarifies not just your line but the riders in your periphery; 4D Mag has a 25% increase of overall field of view compared to the Smith I/O MAG
  • Tapered lens technology straightens out the incoming light rays by progressively tapering the lens from the optical center toward the peripheral view for improved accuracy
  • Durable hydrophobic lens coating repels moisture, grease and grime so water beads up and disperses without streaking—and smudges from fingerprints are wiped clean easily
  • 5X™ antifog inner lens for advanced fog-free performance
  • Quick and easy lens-change tech uses magnets to offer a solution for all-conditions riding
  • 2 locking mechanisms built into the outriggers keep the lens locked in place; a simple push on one of the levers on either side of the frame releases the lens quickly
  • 3-layer DriWix face foam wicks moisture for a fog-free fit
  • QuickFit strap adjustment system lets you find the right fit fast
  • Ultrawide, silicone-backed strap stays put
  • Includes 2 lenses with bright-light and low-light ChromaPop performance tints
  • Higher light transmission percentages are best in cloudy or low-light conditions; lower percentages are good for bright, sunny days
  • Pair with a Smith helmet (not included) for precise alignment between the helmet AirEvac™ and the goggles' venting system for fog-free lenses
  • Includes Smith x gogglesoc lens protector made from postconsumer recycled water bottles and a goggles hard case with microfiber bag
  • Included gogglesoc doubles as a lens protector and cleaning cloth; more convenient than the traditional goggles bag, it can be used with your goggles still on your helmet
  • Closeout

Great goggles for skiing in the PNW

Bought these on sale and have not regretted the investment. They are comfortable (even for someone with some sensory issues lol) and I love the extended field of vision these provide over my old goggles. The lens swap is also super easy, even with cold weaker hands, but isn't too easy to where I'm worried about the lens popping off during use like some others I looked at. Absolutely would recommend and I've also received great feedback from friends that have tried them out!

Fit is great, but the lens distortion is distracting

First, the fit is great and they look awesome with my smith helmet. I liked the look of the 4D mag s more than the I/O s, so I decided on a whim to order the 4D instead of buying I/O s again. However, I should have read the reviews beforehand. I didn’t realize that the lenses have a curve at the bottom of the lens that causes distortion. It wouldn’t be such a big deal, but the blurry distortion is in my line of sight and very distracting. Maybe I’ll grow to not notice the blurriness while skiing since my eyes will be scanning more towards the horizon and less at something immediately in front of me in the lower field of vision.

Terribly irritating to the skin

I was very excited to use these goggles on a low light day for the first time (storm blue lens). Nothing wrong with visibility, that was fine. Not game changing fine in my opinion, just fine. But I could NOT possibly wear these goggles another hour than what I already did (7 hours, so I gave it a good honest try). The fabric on the frame was incredibly uncomfortable. My forehead was irritated beyond belief. I tried loosening, I tried tightening, and everything in between. I will definitely be returning these goggles. Way too expensive to be that uncomfortable.

No warranty response -disappointed

I loved my Storm Rose Flash lenses for low light but the everyday rose gold had a reflection on the frame into my field of vision which made them unusable. Also, the strap ripped away from the frame after only two seasons of wear and Smith has not responded to my warranty submission. I’ve tried twice and have waited over two weeks to hear back from them with no reply. I expected better from Smith especially at this price point!

Only reason I would never wear goggles is because I like having a wide fov and being able to see everything around me, these do a wonderful job and helping with that.
