I had the previous version and loved them for high volume indoor climbing days where technicality and precise footwork weren’t a huge concern. These shoes aren’t a huge departure from that. They seem to perform slightly better in most aspects (they still aren’t great at edging) while still feeling comfortable. Likely due to the less rigid design. The biggest concern I have is the loss of the hemp liner, because it helped to cut down on the smell A LOT. I did size down half a size as these stretch a little more that the previous model and are generally more flexible.
I have bought 7 pairs if Butora shoes and loved the old Endeavor model for gym climbing and cragging. Sadly they have made this model thinner and longer with no padding on the upper. This is no longer a shoe made for folks with wide feet. I am heartbroken as this is the only brand that has ever fit my foot so I am buying up any stock of the old Endeavors that I can!
Great high quality shoes for starting out! These are a notch above entry level shoes so they’re great to grow with as a climber. Butora shoes are crazy high quality as well. The rubber is gonna wear down as is normal with any climbing shoe. There’s a reason a lot of gyms use butora shoes as their rental show.
It’s a great shoes compare to similar price shoes. However, this thing is impossible to edge and I think beginner will grow out of it without first 3 months. If you can pay extra 20 dollar, go get the rubicon from the same company. For reference, I go half size down from street shoes size for a comfort fit.
A perfect evolution of the Endeavor! They still feel similar to the previous version but with an overall improvement in comfort and performance! They also perform well indoor and out.
