A boost of breathability & comfort
This product is amazing. Most leggings/compression shorts feel itchy and uncomfortable on me, but using this insert, I immediately noticed the increased breathability and comfortability (worn in combination with the Oya Happy V Sculpting Shorts). The insert was a little tricky to put into the shorts, but once I finagled it in, it stayed securely & didn't move or shift during wear. Compared to other compression shorts, using this insert provided a non-irritating, almost cooling feeling with great ventilation. It made the shorts so comfortable, I ended up wearing them for hours as I cleared trails and brush. I didn't experience any irritation or odor while using these inserts, and my skin/lady areas tend to be sensitive, so I was quite happy. It's great to see technical apparel designed specifically for women's bodies and needs.
Nice idea; a little tricky to insert into shorts
My understanding is that these inserts are designed to absorb any sweat or leakage. The idea being that you don't have to use panty liners. These can be hand-washed and reused. The idea is solid so I was excited to try it. The instructions that came with the inserts says they are good for 5-15 washes, which was a little disappointing. I'm not sure how many uses I was hoping for but 5 seems a little low. I'm not sure how you know when they are no good anymore. Time will tell. The hardest thing I found was trying to insert them into the crotch of the shorts. I had to watch a video to get tips on how to make it easier (you should be wearing the shorts).
Great idea, but not too useful for me
I got these inserts to go with the Oya Femtech Apparel Women's Sculpting shorts. The shorts have a little pocket in the crotch that these fit perfectly inside of and it's really easy getting them in and out of the shorts. They are moisture absorbing and antimicrobial which is super nice on those extra sweaty days when you might worry about smelling down there after a workout. If you wear panty liners to help absorb sweat, these will be great for you since they're inserted into the shorts, you don't have to worry about chafing like you sometimes do with panty liners. I personally do not get overly sweaty down there often and only really use panty liners as a backup on my period (which these would not be useful for) so am not sure how often I'll actually use them. They also have to be hand washed, which automatically makes decreases the likely hood dramatically, but that's me being ridiculously busy (and okay, maybe a little lazy!)
Pads are okay and very high maintenance
As a women that doesn’t love tight yoga pants because of the v bumpy situation usually get, I was really excited to try the pads. But I didn’t like them as much as I thought. First they need to be hand washed. As a modern women that is busy, I really don’t have the time or know how to hand wash these. They are also only good for 5 to 15 washes, which seemed hard to keep track or why they would wear out. In reality, the pads are hard to put in the shorts and they didn’t do much for v bumpy situation. I would love to see pads that can be machine washable and the bag they came in would be a laundry bag to keep them from losing. I would also love them to be a bit thicker to protect my v.
Didn't know it was there!
These inserts are absorbent, comfortable, and easy to forget that they're there. In full disclosure, I don't have too much trouble with sweating in a way that these inserts are completely necessary for me, but I tried them out on a couple run/walks in Las Vegas -- on one day it was hot & dry (normal), and the other it was hot and humid, so I was sweating a lot. I feel like the insert made me more confident that any extraneous sweating would have a place to go. These inserts are easy to wash, and like I said, I hardly notice they're there, but they're not SUPER easy to insert, and walking makes them fold over on me. Again, no discomfort with them there, but I wonder if they'd be okay with gym movements more than walking/running?
Goodbye pantyliners!
I used the Oya FemTech inserts with the Ola TemTech Ventilated "Happy V" 7/8 Leggings while hiking and lifting weights at the gym. The inserts are discrete, easy to put into place, and comfortable. While I think under normal conditions I would likely wear the leggings without as they have great ventilation, I love the inserts in situations where I would normally wear a pantyliner. And the difference between a sweaty activity with a pantyliner and the insert is a game changer. The insert stays in place but still provides protection. So much more comfortable! I also love the lined, water proof pouch to stash used liners in when on the go.
Don't let them smell you sweat!
This was a whole new piece of female apparel technology I never would have imagined! I think it is a well intentioned invention that could be useful for some ladies. The idea of feeling fresh during high intensity workouts or extreme weather is good. The pads are a little stiffer than I would like. The Oya shorts themselves were more comfortable without the pads, but I suppose the pads serve a purpose. I like the fact that they are washable and reusable.
No more odor concerns!
I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. These inserts do exactly as advertised! They're small and easily fit into the "pocket" of the shorts. It took about three minutes to get used the feeling of the insert and then I almost forgot it was in. I used these to hike and on the bike and treadmill at the gym. I do get concerned about an odor after a particularly sweaty workout, and these inserts totally did the trick! They were also very easy to clean - I used a little soap and water, wrung them out and then I used a clip hanger to dry them overnight. It takes away any concerns about an odor, and I'll definitely be using these. More workout apparel should be designed with a pocket for these inserts!
Not my favorite product
I received this product for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. The liner feels too much like a period pad and I’m not a fan. It takes a long while before I start to stink so I couldn’t actually tell if the product worked. Easy to insert and take out.
Not for me
Pack of 4 came with 2. I don’t know that I would buy these separately. If they came with the leggings, I would probably still take this little pad out honestly. Feels odd when you have it in there.
