Good design and high quality

This is a really well designed and high quality duffel! The 65L duffel was able to fit my ski boots, helmet, jacket and pants, base layers and gloves, as well as pajamas and an additional outfit. Perfect for a ski weekend! That said, it would only work well for a car trip, in my opinion. This duffel is over the size limits for airline carryon, and I’d want to be very strategic about my packing if I were to check it. Like most duffels, there’s no padding to protect what’s inside. The backpack straps are easy to take out of their pockets to use, and fairly easy to get back in their pockets when not in use. Due to the size of this duffel, it gets pretty heavy for wearing as a backpack. I wouldn’t recommend relying on that functionality for an extended amount of time (not because of the quality—the straps are very durable—but because of the comfort). My back was bothering me after only about five minutes of wearing the bag packed full with the items I mentioned above. I love that the duffel can pack up into its pocket! I expected it to be impossible to pack back up as most “packable” things tend to be, but I was able to get it folded and packed into itself within a few minutes! Finally, I do wish this had an internal pocket or pockets. The external pocket is nice, but it’s always useful to have internal pockets for smaller items. Excited to get more use out of this bag!

Great duffel, fits my whole snowboard kit!

Great all around duffel with some excellent features! I’ve tried a LOT of different duffel and travel bags, from small companies to the big names everybody knows. This bag lands in a sweet spot of lightweight, yet durable; spacious, yet packable; and has a variety of carrying options WITHOUT those other straps and loops hanging every when not in use. First impression: I was amazed at how small the bag arrived, pictured with a 1L bottle for scale. I expected the cover/storage bag to be a separate thing, but I was wrong. As you open the bag up “storage bag” is a we designed pocket that inverts into the main compartment. Next impression: this bag is big and the finish fees excellent. Cool “T” zipper pulls will make it easy to zip with the bag loaded up. The backpack straps/clips stow nicely into their own hidden sleeves to streamline things when you’re not using them. I loaded the bag up to see what it looked like stuffed to the max. Then I threw it on my back and it’s as good as any backpack carry duffel I’ve used. Reminder, you’re in control of your own comfort destiny: don’t pack your helmet on the top of the bag then complain it’s hard against your back when you carry it. I did a practice pack and my whole snowboard kit fits in the bag without a fight: boots, snow pants, impact shorts, puffy vest, jacket, gloves, goggles and helmet. I could probably stuff some extra clothes in without any trouble too! The bag doesn’t have that vulcanized/plastic coating to waterproof it, but it’s definitely lighter weight for it. This won’t be a bag for leaving out in the rain on a camping trip, but an outstanding sports and travel bag.

Big and multipurpose bag

This is a big and multipurpose bag. At 65L it could easily pass as carryon luggage, perfect for a long weekend (or longer) trip. The fabric feels durable - much stronger than other packable bags I’ve had in the past. I love the hideaway backpack straps. But I wish this also came with a shoulder strap (including the clips on the long ends of the bag to attach it to. Overall a solid bag that will last a good long while through lots of adventures.

Great Bag for Traveling and Stores Small

I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. This bag is great in that it is roomy and packs down into its own side pocket for storage. I have other duffels like this that have a separate bag to store the bag in, and they are heavier. This feels a thinner material than other similar products, so time will tell how it handles wear and tear. The backpack straps feel pretty good for a clothing load. I didn't have any flights scheduled during the evaluation period, so I can't give the "Airport Review." However throwing it in the back of the Jeep with some clothes and a blanket to head to camp or an AirBnB was just perfect. It does take a little patience and memory to get it stored back into the pocket it stores in. Straps and handles feel good, but I don't overpack either. I will use it for years to come.

Large and useful

This bag is great! Large enough for a 5-7 day trip. I use it for my daily bag which is carrying all my dry clothes to change into during winter! Love the rigged handles and water resistant exterior!!

Perfect all around duffel

I’ve been using this duffel on road trips and it’s excellent for lighter duty adventures. The bag is extremely light weight which seems to be a specialty of Gregory. I have a lot of there gear and it’s all very light. If you’re packing carefully you could easily fit 2 weeks of clothes into this bag. The incorporated back pack straps are very nice too, the tuck out of sight when you don’t need them and quickly deploy when you do. For most people I would say it’s the perfect size bag with just the right amount durability.

Great take on a traditional duffel bag!

Great bag, well made. Seems like it will last for a long time. Zippers and handles are top notch. Getting the shoulder straps in and out of their storage area is a little cumbersome. Also, if you're not using both of the shoulder straps as a backpack and only using one strap like a traditional duffel bag, the strap really isn't made for this and doesn't sit evenly on the shoulder. Love that it folds down and stores into it's zippered exterior pocket.

Almost perfect

I bought this duffel to use as a swim bag, for which it is perfect. Holds our swim clothes, towels, pool toys, change of clothes, etc etc. I would like to suggest two improvements. 1) an interior zippered pocket for valuables 2) an interior elastic band or mesh compartment for keeping a 32 oz water bottle upright.

Great travel bag

Bought this bag as a gift for my college age child. Although the specs say it is not a carry-on size, when cinched down it is a great carry-on bag if kept under the weight limit for most flights and will get lots of use over the years. Also a very attractive bag and incredibly lightweight.
