The package to get if you want a Mini Bomber
Reluctantly, I give the mini bomber kit here from REI 5 stars. First let's state the obvious - it's ludicrously expensive. There are clones from Chinese companies that probably do 90% of what this does for 50% of the price. However, I'm on a buy American kick and losing a bike or two on the freeway seems like a risk not worth taking. The quality of the materials seems very high. I've mounted this setup on multiple cars and driven through very twisty roads and at very high speeds, with no degradation in the suction. My gripe with purchasing this rack anywhere else is that the plugs to support various thru-axles aren't included by default. This is, to put it as politely as possible, a trash policy by SeaSucker. The plugs are $.50 of plastic and rubber, and to purchase something at this price point and not be able to hook up your bike unless you've done the research beforehand and bought extra is ridiculous. You won't have that problem with this kit. Someone manually opens this box and puts bags of the plugs in, so I was a bit freaked when I first got it since the box doesn't mention the plugs. The manual is clear, and after you do it the first time setup is 2-3 minutes. When placing, be aware of your radar sensors and cameras. I regret not springing for this earlier, as putting a traditional trunk rack on my nice sedan (not pictured) jacked up the paint, wheras this approach would not.
