BlackStrap  Team Hood Balaclava

Excellent outer layer fit! I own multiples of the Expedition and OG balaclavas as well as the Daily Tube Neck Gaiter. The Team Hood is definitely as advertised with a looser overall fit than any of the others. I’m out delivering mail all day, often in the rain and heavy snow, and this hood works really well as an outer layer worn over one of the tighter Blackstrap balaclavas or over the neck tube. It fits nicely over my postal cap or beanie and provides the perfect extra layer between my head and the elements! The adjustable toggles are super easy to reach and use to tighten it up when the weather gets blustery. I can even adjust them with my heavy, clumsy lobster claw snow mittens . All my Blackstrap gear looks cool as hell and the Team Hood in Terrain Alpenglow is no exception. I consistently get compliments and questions of “where’d you get that???” from customers and coworkers alike.

Real nice having it over the helmet. When it got hot and I needed more venting you just pull it back off the helmet. You don’t get suffocated, sweaty, or cold. Comfortable and I got tons of compliments on it. I wear a helmet snowboarding, and my buddies don’t, but I dont feel as weird with this over 😂

Easy to wear over or under a helmet or another hood...The double layer design of this hood makes it easy to be compliant for “masking up”. The prints are super fun. LOVE the versatility of these hoods.

Overall, this hood is awesome. I really like how it can fit over/under the helmet - I personally wear mine over my helmet. The materials and fabric are quality and don't freeze when wet, killer looks, there's a style or design for everyone. My one recommendation for improvement is to make it bigger, especially for riders that wear it over the helmet. Even when the cord isn't cinched down, it can be pretty tight on helmets that are not low profile. Adding a little more slack would be great, and if it's too much, there's already the cord to tie it down. Great hood, I love the hex camo pattern, would recommend it to all riders.

Hands down my favorite hood in the game, I’ve tried out and worn other hoods from companies like Burton, Phunkshun, and the Team Hood blows them all out of the water. The material is great because on a really cold day you won’t have your breaths condensation cause the face mask part of the hood to freeze over solid, it stays warm and dry even when you’re breaking a sweat. Also dope because you can wear it over a helmet/hat or under them as well, perfect for finding your own stylish look. Also nice because you can custom fit it to your head and face with the adjustable bands. Would definitely recommend

certainly not as bulky as some of the other over the helmet options out there which is appreciated when wearing it for a few hours straight. I find myself using this more an more when doing everyday things when I grab a jacket that doesn't have a built in hood. The adjustable straps are key and just be sure to not tighten these down too much with each use as I can see them losing their tension over time.

Wore this all winter and it worked perfectly. The inner gaiter not being attached at the bottom makes this hood way more comfortable than others I have had in the past. It feels more like wearing a bandanna than a neck gaiter. I do wish the bottom of the hood was a little longer so it stayed tucked in better but overall it’s great for storm days or spring laps when you don’t want the sun on your face.

I love my expedition balaclavas and decided to give this model a try. As soon as I got it, I thought that the attachment behind the head (where the straps tighten) looked flimsy. One gentle wash later the attachment has almost shredded. Super disappointed. Stick with the expedition!

I have the hood balaclava, the expedition version, and now the team hood. I really like all 3 of them and they all serve different purposes. The team hood is great be cause it can go over or under the helmet, the material is great and doesn't freeze when it gets wet, and the color options are great. My one recommendation is to make the hooded part just a tad bit bigger. Some helmets are bigger than others or aren't low profile and the hood is almost too snug on it...and I prefer to wear my team hood over the helmet versus under. Great hood, I'd recommend it to anyone.
