Great Socks, But Need to Lose an Inch Off the Top

Excellent socks for hiking and casual wear. They wear well and don't seem to get any foul smell if being worn for more than one day; this is a great benefit when traveling and have a lack of laundry facilities. They also air dry fairly quick, which is also great when you need to hand-wash them, or if you get them wet. I would certainly recommend them for travelers, hikers, and even some backpacking. The only negative note is that they are an inch taller (I wear XL) than the previous model of roughly 3 years ago. I wear hiking boots most of the time and I like the mid-crew style as it (once) just comes above the boot shaft by just an inch or two, and did not ride up on my calves. But unfortunately, this model and the prior year's now ride up on my calf kind-of awkwardly; I have to fold down the top, or kinda "scrunch" them down. It's not a huge deal overall, but it's counter-intuitive to the "mid-crew" design purpose.
