Awesome warm gloves-mit covers make the difference
These gloves are awesome! I wore them while hiking over Larke Pass on the Manaslu circuit in Nepal in freezing conditions (up to 5,106 meters in elevation), and with the mit covers, they kept my hands warm the entire time. I started out with what I thought were a warmer pair of gloves and switched to these because my hands were freezing in the other pair. I highly recommend these gloves! The grip dots on the palm are very helpful as well. Great design and super warm!

Pills Immediately
While these are reasonably warm and comfortable to wear, the black/slate fabric used started pilling almost immediately upon use, particularly on the thumb and pointer finger where the touch pad technology is supposed to be. At first I thought this would be just an annoying cosmetic issue, but after not even three weeks of use, the pilling was so bad that the touch pad fingers are rendered useless. For the $50 price, I would expect a lot more from a normally reputable brand, I will be returning.

Smartwool Gloves/mitts tore on day 2.

Stitching inadequate. Has this company sacrificed quality, idk. Gloves shouldn't tear when you’re wearing the correct size. Setting was rain and warmer than freezing conditions. Will smart wool or REI make this right….?

Lightweight WARM winter glove

Great winter gloves! I bought these for skiing in New England mountains, as I dislike big bulky gloves. They are light, stretchy, and warm, even while skiing in single digit temps with windchills well below zero. The mitten cover cuts away the chill in the coldest conditions, but I usually left the index fingers out for more dexterity and stayed perfectly warm. The etip fingers work great, better than any other gloves I’ve used. They resist absorbing water and dry almost immediately. Highly recommend!!! I plan to buy a few more pairs!

I like it because the price is cheap and the mitts are warm.

Comfortable, but not very warm

Comfortable gloves. I needed these to maintain dexterity and hopefully try to keep my hands warm. They definitely allow for lots of movement and the gloves with great with the touch screen on your phone. My only complaint is it isn't very warm. I was hoping with some wool it would be. I need to use electric hand warmers.

SmartWool wind mittens

Very warm. I gave it a 4 out of 5 because I don't like the mitten part stuffed in flap on top of hand. Great concept but falls out and bulky feel.

Perfect for Running

Nice lightweight gloves for runs. The slide over mitten makes this perfect for cooler and windier days

Comfy

I needed to replace my old Salomon Fast Wing Winter that I liked. When I was about to get the same pair, my friend mentioned how much she likes this Smartwool Active Fleece Wind Mitten. So I got this instead, out of curiosity. I like them as much as the Salomon pair. Maybe this Smartwool pair feels softer inside. I haven’t got this wet yet and am curious how fast they dry. The Salomon pair dried very fast.

Smart wool wind mittens

Appear to be well made. Lining is soft and warm although I haven’t worn them outside yet. There is a pocket to store the mitten part and the result is a dressier glove. Clever design.
