Love these for winter beach walks. Enough dexterity to flip over shells, look for sea glass, and pull individual dog training treats out of my pocket, but warm enough that my fingers don't completely freeze. Unless I keep my hands in my pockets, these gloves aren't quite enough once it hits about 25 degrees F, but they do cut the wind even when it's up in the teens & gusting 20+. I don't usually have to take them off to use my phone, but sometimes it takes a few tries to get my phone to respond to touch. This started after washing them a few times-- other gloves I've tried won't conduct at all after washing, so I can't complain. I haven't had issues with seam splitting like other reviewers, even with pulling/stretching as I hold onto the leash of a 60 lb dog that's learning not to pull. Some of the grippy dots have popped off where the leash is usually in contact with my hands, but that's not unexpected and I'm honestly impressed that a lot of them are still there. Ordering a second pair!
I've had a number of "fails" trying to find a reliable wind glove for the transition seasons. Had the out in windy, cool New England weather and was pleased with the results. No issues with cold fingers, grip well and fit snugly. Today's wind chill 31. These gloves met the challenge. The search is over.
The Smartwool Active Fleece Wind Gloves are fantastic! They provide just the right amount of warmth while staying lightweight and comfortable. The wind resistance is a great bonus, and they work well for outdoor activities. Highly recommend!
Comfortable and well made. Good to about 32 degrees F when running.
Initial usage they are warm, comfortable and meet my needs.
Highly recommend for “mid level” glove … warm enough for dog walks, grippy enough to manage a phone and a dog and a waste bag all at once … not built for rain though but that’s ok, not why I bought them!
Bought these because I thought they’d be warm. They’re fine for anything over 40F but my hands are freezing in my 30F winters. 2 stars only because they have a sleek look
Very good for Texas winters. The fit allows me to open or pick up small items, and I can also use my phone.
I have long fingers and vary between a Women's Large and X-Large, and sometimes a Men's Medium. These gloves are not angled properly to fit the pinky finger. The Large fits all of my fingers nicely, but the glove itself rides up on the outside, causing a half inch or more to end up above the pinky finger itself. I kept pushing the side of the glove done and readjusting the fit, but it kept happening within a minute or less. Have to return and seek an alternative.
I wanted lightweight hiking gloves that are waterproof, warm but not hot, and wind resistant. These gloves are very nice, and check all the boxes. They also have a slight compression, which adds to the comfort.
