Great support, but the soles wear out quickly.
I got these for backpacking with a lot of weight on steep, rugged terrain, off trails. They were excellent for that purpose and very supportive. They had just the right amount of flex in the ball of the foot to keep you feeling nimble walking on flat ground and comfortable enough for everyday wear, without sacrificing support when it counts. I felt like a mountain goat with these things. They were very stiff and the uppers were extremely durable but they softened up after 2 weeks of daily wear. I really have nothing bad to say about these other than the durability of the soles. They are not suited for walking on concrete. I wore them on and off trail (only shoes I had) for 33 days, and I had managed to wear the soles out significantly in that time. I ground down nearly 1/4 inch of rubber off the heel. That is wear that I'd expect to see after 6 months with an average pair of hiking boots. Just be aware the soles are very soft and won't last long. They can be resoled though. The other thing I'd like to mention is these are hot and don't breathe well. you'll want to air them out at the end of each day and take out the insoles, otherwise they can get moldy. I was in a dry climate and still had issues with this. If you're in a wet environment, I'd consider something else. These would likely take days to dry.
