Fantastic alpine gloves
These gloves are fantastic. They are very warm but maintain a surprising degree of finger dexterity. The wrist leash and cuff loops are well made, but where these gloves really shine are the one hand open-close cuff closure. No matter how cold or clumsy your hands feel, the open-close cuff closure is very easy to use. The leather palms are supple and have held up well thus far. These will be my go to gloves for sub-freezing outdoor activities going forward. My palm circumference is 22 cm and wrist-to-finger length is also 22 cm. Size XL fits me perfectly. I can wear a liner with these, but they do get pretty snug. If I consistently wore a liner glove, I would probably size up one size.
great!
These kept my hands warm on some late fall and winter hikes. I liked the wrist straps; makes it easy to take the gloves off and have a snack without losing them (which I have done so many times). Overall, good value.
Thoughtfully designed for quick transitions
I ordered these in a medium and they fit quite snugly on my hands, which I consider to be on the smaller side. My favorite feature is the drawstring closure. I love cinching down mittens to keep water out, but this usually requires extra effort that sometimes involves using my teeth. With this design, only one hand is needed to tighten or loosen these gloves making for a quick transition. The added loop on the middle finger to allow for quick clipping onto a biner also helps reduce transition times. The bulkiness of these gloves does minimize dexterity, but I appreciated the added leash so that I didn't lose the gloves every time I needed to pull them off. As with any leash, this maneuver risks getting water inside the gloves, but I found it necessary for knots and clipping. Overall, I really appreciate the thoughtful design of these gloves and find them to be warm and comfortable.
My new favorite ski gloves.
Warmest gloves I have put on in a while that weren't mittens. They are definitely suited for true alpine conditions, negative temperatures and long days of exposure. The leather is flawless and these just have great functionality.
Best freezing season gloves I've ever tried
These gloves have the best features in cold season gloves I've ever seen. I tested them out at 20 degree mountain weather in the eastern sierras and they were a life saver. The pull cords are a life saver and easy to tighten and loosen over the jacket if your hands are frozen. All of the different straps throughout the gloves help to make them snug and forget that you even have them on. And the hanging loops came in handy when I would take them off to use my phone and a breeze to put back on quickly. Lastly, the slick design makes them look pretty cool.
Slopeside or Vertical
Super versatile glove, even wore them on my motorcycle, good windbreak @ 40mph. Hanging loops on finger to keep snow out while clipped to harness or bag. Medium gauntlet length with a well thought out closure system. Snow can't stick to these, but your tools will. Soft, comfortable feel, like your favorite softshell. Dextrous enough for ice screws. Good grip. More insulation on the back of hand is noticable.
Perfect glove for ice climbing
Excellent overall, very positive. Insulation is excellent and there are thoughtful selection of the surface fabrics on different parts of the glove for optimized performance. Grippy where it needs to be on the fingers and flexible in other places. The wrists covers are long enough and the wrist closure mechanism is EXCELLENT, very simple with just one pull to open and one pull from the other side to close. Can easily be done with the other gloved hand, or teeth as needed! Nice long glove hanging loop, only small issue is the loop is close to the open closure making it easy to grab the wrong cord. Not a deal breaker at all. Sizing is tight, but adequate. I normally wear an XL sized glove, this was a little on the tight side compared to other gloves I have bought, so be careful with sizing, go one size up perhaps if you are not sure. The breathable membrane worked well, I did not build up a sweat inside the gloves, and the insulation was dry after using the glove. The buckles to join the gloves together do not get in the way, only small improvement to be is make them reversible - you have to plug the buckle in exactly the right way round.
Awesome pair of extreme weather gloves.
I used these gloves in Maine and the Northern portions of New Hampshire. I hiked, did some winter fishing with them, wore them to clean vehicles in the snow, and finally even wore them around the house. They are some of the most comfortable gloves I have ever worn and I will definitely be using them on my next winter camping expedition. I'm also a fan of the closure system and wrist leashes.
Game changing cuff closure!
This midweight glove is perfect for the colder PNW days. Think weather temps in the teens and 20s vs. a sub zero glove. I generally run very hot so I'm the weird that will be wearing t-shirts in blowing snow in 20 degree weather BUT I'll have gloves and a hat on. High output cold temps, this is a comfortable glove for me or low physical output with moderate temps. The construction of the glove is a little looser than the rest of the GEKO line and runs true to size. The imitation leather being used here has a higher denier than what's used in their hot gloves which is a huge positive. I like the wrist strap to help keep out the cold and the absolute game changer on these gloves is the ability to open and close the cuff single handedly with ease. One side opens, other side closes, and it's clearly labeled on the glove. Being a glove this offers high manual dexterity and I was able to get to my strap buckles with ease on my backpack.
Great gloves!
Warmest gloves I’ve ever owned. They aren’t too bulky and keep me warm on the coldest days. I like the drawstring closures and the wrist wrap. They are expensive but so far have been worth the money and I’m hoping they stand up to the test of time.
