Most comfortable Xero shoes I've worn. However, theybare falling apart and have less than 100 miles on them.
The Xero Scrambler Low Hiking shoe is neither a good hiking shoe nor comfortable walking shoe. The shoe provides little support for the foot and lacks any semblance of internal padding. In short, you feel every pebble, stick, or root on a trail. Likewise, the outsole, a studded Michelin based surface, provides poor footing on wet and dry rocks or stone surfaces. (They are slippery.) That reflection comes from hiking the Balkans in Croatia and touring the historic, old, stone-paved cities. Last, the toe box started to delaminate after two weeks of wear. While the shoe looks good, its all style over substance.
This is an amazing minimalist hiking shoe and exactly what I was looking for. The upper is breathable and soft yet protective and requires hardly any break in as with most Xero shoes. The Michelin sole is amazing. The tread grips dirt better than any other shoes I've worn and the rubber compound inspires full confidence on smooth rock. Were a pleasure to wear while exploring Zion. Highly Recommend
These are my first Xero Shoes. I am impressed with the comfort out of the box. I have worn them casually all day several times and have taken them on a short trail walk. These are significantly more protective than the Merrill Trail Gloves that I’ve worn in the past. Fits true to size.
I used these shoes to hike the Nã Pali Coast and Waimea Canyon trails and was impressed by the grip and traction in clay and on wet rock. At the end of the day my feet felt great. I’ve owned several pairs of Merell Trail and Vapor Gloves and these provided better support on longer hikes. Highly recommend.
Great but I would say they run a little large relative to the shoes that they came out with for generally walking around purposes, however they are true to the companies ethos their light they’re comfortable and they are generally good
Wearing down at the ball rapidly after only 100 miles.
These shoes felt great for my narrow high arch foot right out of the box. However, after less than two months of mostly indoor and casual outdoor wear, the mesh surfaces of the shoes are full of holes. The fabric is delicate and cannot handle everyday normal use--hardly a shoe built for hiking, despite its sturdy sole.
love them! wide enough and light weight. hope REI carries their waterproof shoes soon.
