ToughCutie  Eve Light Weight Hiker Quarter Socks - Women's

I received these socks in exchange for an honest review for Trailblazers through REI. I wire these with my running shoes and my feet felt comfortable and supported during my entire workout. I have very sensitive, picky feet. These “cuties” past the test! They are made of Moreno Wool and I gave them the smell test and they did NOT smell. If you are a through backpacker and wear trail runners, try these out! I hate my stinky socks on trail- don’t you?

I must confess that I was initially hesitant to try wearing wool socks during the summer season because of the thick texture. My only issue with these socks was that they were thicker than my other light wool pairs. However, I decided to try it after an overnight storm that left the trails muddy and the temperature at 70 degrees with high humidity. To my amazement, the wool socks proved to be highly comfortable and kept my feet cool. Despite my shoes being wet, the socks remained dry. I love these socks and strongly recommend them to anyone looking for comfort and functionality.

I recently wore these tough cutie socks on an morning trail run. It had rained quite a bit the day before, and, I knew the ground would be wet. I wanted my feet to stay warm and dry while on trail and they did! As I generally wear an 8 1/2 or 9 shoe, when I first put the socks on they fit snug, which makes sense as I ordered a size medium and size 9 is on the upper end of the size range. They were comfortable though and didn’t feel tight while I was running. I especially appreciated the reinforced toe / heel as well as the reinforced triangle which sits at the back of the calf right where the upper part of my hiking boots end. These socks are ideal for outdoor activities in the fall. And what’s more this company is woman owned!

These socks are very comfortable for wool socks! I prefer wool to cotton for its insulating properties, however wool is usually a bit scratchier. Not so with the ToughCutie socks. The construction seems to be of much higher than typical quality and there’s extra padding where socks usually get holes. The red color is vibrant fun. I will definitely buy these socks again over another brand.

I've tested out the ToughCutie socks on a couple hot & dry desert hikes so far. My feet stayed relatively dry despite the hot conditions & sweat. They are well-cushioned enough for longer mileage while remaining lightweight. They are not at all bulky & therefore I plan to pack them along on upcoming travel/backpacks. These socks are also comfy with my work shoes as I am on my feet for long hours. I like greys & blues in general, but the ToughCutie violet color is really pretty. Yay to fun hiking sock colors! For high-top boots or ankle braces, you will need the taller sock version versus the quarter socks. That said, the quarter sock version couple perfectly with low-top boots or trail running shoes. My only concern is long-term quality. I do a lot of off-trail excursions and after one (relatively short) bushwhack, the socks piled in an area or two (a few threads piled up/loosened). Of course I'm rough on socks, but I will be curious to see how they hold up after multiple adventures. Overall, I recommend these socks & will likely purchase more of this brand. I love that these can be lightweight while still being so comfy! Plus, my cat loves them.

Oh man, I so want to love padded socks, but 99% of the time they make my feet gross sweat monsters. Not these! Every now and then I try padded socks again, only to be disappoint all over, but with these I have zero disappointments. The big test for me is wearing them with old-school flat sneakers. Do they fit comfortably in my shoes? Yes! Do they add cushion that the shoes lack? Yes! Did they make my feet hot? Not at all, and that is wearing them in the middle of August with walking as my mode of transportation. Passing the biggest hurdles, I can't wait to take them out for a proper hike.

These socks are very comfortable! And look great with different colors to choose from. The stitching is tight so there’s no chance of wearing a hole in these over a long hike. Even in hot weather, my feet were completely comfortable. I liked them so much I even wore them with other shoes besides my hiking boots.

These Tough Cutie were tested for hiking and everyday wear in late summer conditions and performed excellently. The socks are high quality, well designed, and "just right" in so many ways. The size Medium socks fit very well within the stated shoe size range of 7-9 and provide support with no sagging and no slipping of heel into shoe. The socks are just the right thickness for fitting into trail shoes yet providing cushioning in use, and the quarter socks are just the right height. The merino wool nylon blend offers breathability and also durability. The socks washed and dried well by machine. The appearance looks attractive and classic, with subtle coloring of Blue Haze color, a dusty blue-green with charcoal grey interwoven. These socks are recommended for any outdoor activities or general use.

Great socks for light to moderate hiking adventures! They are lightweight and breathable and the stretch is nearly perfect. The height of the socks is great for me too as I typically wear trail running shoes and not hiking boots. They also wash well - I've washed them several times already and they still look new. The color and design is also nice. Highly recommend!
