Great kids jacket
This jacket came at the perfect time as the temperature plummeted in the PNW this fall. We were able to take my 5 year old out on several outings with this jacket in temps ranging from low 30’s to mid 40’s from sunshine to pouring rain. The jacket held up perfectly through some light hiking, a boat trip and torrential downpour. The jacket stayed waterproof in the rain and he said he was still warm and dry throughout all of our excursions. Unfortunately it’s still a little early in the season for snow so we didn’t get to test it skiing but I have no doubt it will hold up well when we go later in the year. The materials seem well constructed and the jacket has a great fit and design. The hood fits perfectly and the sleeve length was great. If you’re looking for a new winter jacket for your little one, this would be a great option.
Great cold weather option!
We (my kiddo and I) tested this out jacket over the course of a couple of weeks. I was previously unfamiliar with the brand but found myself increasing impressed with its construction and performance.
Great fitting snow jacket that will last years!
The hootie hoo Hayden jacket is a perfect fit for my 4 year old daughter. I especially love that you can easily make the sleeves longer by pulling a few stitches! This jacket is going to last her at least two seasons and it’s not because it is so big that it has a future! The becket is very well constructed. The snow belt fits her perfectly and the hood is nicely ergonomic even though it doesn’t have a drawstring. I can’t wait for her to romp in the snow wearing this jacket!
Great toddler snow jacket!
We had a perfect opportunity to test the jacket in this recent snowy weekend in Denver and it proved quite impressive. My 4 year old son reports staying warm while playing outside in the snow every single time I asked him. That he lasted outside for about an hour (and longer if I didn’t bring him in for lunch), is good enough corroboration for me. Prior to that, it held up to slightly windy days and love that the hood is big enough to fit a beanie underneath. I LOVE the waist gaiter—this also helped to keep him warm (and dry!). It is a little big for him in the 4T size but this means plenty of room for layers and use into the early spring and even potentially cooler early season camping nights. Haven’t tested this yet, but I also love the idea of being able to let the sleeves out as he gets bigger to make the jacket last even longer. Overall, love this jacket and would gladly buy one for my daughter—getting multiple seasons and enabling them to stay comfortable while playing is totally worth it!
Great transitional season jacket!
I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. This is a great transitional season jacket for kids. Not too heavy, not too light. The color I got is a very vivid blue, which is easy to spot when we are adventuring outside! I ordered a size 4; my little one usually wears a 4T, so this was closest to what they have in other brands. I love the length, especially for little humans. It covers enough that sitting on something wet means their bum is still protected. I also really like the adjustable sleeve length as they grow. While the rest of the jacket fit well with room to stretch, the sleeves still seemed long. Mimicking their system, I just sewed a second ring inside the sleeves, taking up some extra length. I can let these out when those arms grow! It’d be nice if there were already multiple lines of stitching to allow for different body composition, but it only took me about 5 minutes.
