Great jacket and I would definitely buy this again!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this as a shell layer for a recent ski trip out to Keystone. I tend to run pretty hot and like to shed or add layers throughout the day when I need to. Worked perfectly with my base and mid layers keeping me warm and dry. Lots of places to stash phone, extra gloves, and small gear - which came in handy later on when the snow really started coming down. The extra large hood fit perfectly over my helmet and the ski pass pocket on the left forearm is an added bonus. Would definitely buy this jacket again and strongly recommend for anyone looking for a non-insulated shell to match with their cold weather layering system.

Nice jacket, hood and sleeve length may be issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I very much liked the jacket but the hood is not stowable, which I did not realize, and so returned it. Otherwise liked the material and features, fit is a little long in the sleeves however.

I would buy this jacket again and recommended to peers

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my "civilian" ski jacket. I teach and guide at Palisades Tahoe. When I am not in my TNF uniform, I use this versatile waterproof outer layer.

Very high quality and smart design, but weird fit for me...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket seems to be very high quality, with nice materials and craftsmanship, and feels like it will last a long time (like most North Face stuff!) It also is well thought out, with all the "must-have" features you'd expect (nice powder skirt, watertight zippers, etc.) and some unexpected/smart design touches, too (like the integrated goggle wipe pocket!). I think it would be an ideal shell for those who don't like a lot of insulation in there ski/snowboard jacket, like myself. The only problem for ME is... the fit is a little weird compared to other North Face jackets. The sleeves are VERY long, and the torso is kinda big and boxy - so if you like that sorta' shape, this would be ideal! Personally, I like "standard" length sleeves, and I'm not into the boxier torso, so I actually returned this and went with the Freedom jacket, which is not as high-end in materials or build quality and has fewer features, but fits me like a glove. Essentially what I'm saying is, you should either try this out in-store (and their stores are real spotty with what's in stock and what's not...), or order this AND another jacket you're considering, in case the fit is weird for you, too.
