Nice quality, but run really large.
Really nice pair of snow pants. Good quality. Nice pockets. Loved how everything worked. However, I ordered medium. I am 5' 9", 33 - 34 waist. These were huge on me. So I took them into local REI store and tried on another pair of Medium North Face ski bibs and they fit perfectly. So these run really large, especially in the length of the legs. They didn't carry the Ceptor and I really didn't feel like going through the time to order small, try those and then have those be to small, so I just exchanged for the other Northface mediums that did fit.
I love these bibs!
I love these bibs. They are burly for an uninsulated hard shell and while they tour fine, I tend to take my lighter pants touring and mostly ski these at the resort. The zippers seem sturdy and large compared to other ski pants, the fabric is heavy, and the kick patches are thick. I am 5’11” and 195lbs and purchased size medium. While fit is subjective, these are slimmer through the thigh than other ski pants I own. They aren’t so tight that I can’t wear insulating layers under them, however. I don’t think the lower pant legs are wider than other ski pants, but they look/feel like it because of the slim thighs. Thigh vent zippers are well placed and can be vented from the top or the bottom. The front zipper is also 2-way so the fly can be opened without opening your jacket to access the top of the zipper. The 2 chest pockets work great for my phone and wallet or a smaller beacon. The thigh pockets are strangely sized and located and if I put my phone in one of them it falls over a part of my knee and is uncomfortable. Because of the more narrow cut through the thigh the pockets also seem too tight to fit much in them. I use the key clip in one pocket for my car key but don’t otherwise use them. The self-adjusting suspender system works fine (although I don’t have issues with suspenders on other bibs that are not self-adjusting) and the integrated waist belt is helpful. Overall, these bibs are exactly what I was looking for in an uninsulated ski pant that I mostly use at the resort but can take them touring if I wanted to.
Excellent Quality and Functionality
I love these bibs. Waterproof and breathability are great. Full length fly zipper so you don't have to go digging. Ample pockets. If I had to complain about one thing it's that the leg pockets are a little too low so your item bangs against your knee.
Perfect bib to stay dry through the season.
The bib will keep you dry lap after lap. The fit is snug but flexible.
