Good budget seat better than selle royal Respiro
I got this yesterday and it is very good, but it did take me a little bit of getting used to. At first it felt like I was floating while riding my bike. However after a little bit I got used to it. It is very comfortable for the most part, and let me explain why . While I am riding my bike I do not feel the seat, but when you stop you do feel it but while I am riding I don’t feel it at all. The one critical thing about this seat you need to measure your sit bones that is absolutely critical. If you have two big of sit bones, this seat will go right up your butt crack and it will not feel good. So measure your step bones for the right size. If you do that, it’s not bad seat for the money you spend it’s not a bad thing I had the selle royal Respiro and that one fell apart in like two months so I’m hoping this one here last longer than that but right now is a good seat for the money you spent.
Brutal for long rides, fine for short rides
I use this saddle on my touring bike. My rides are in the 5-30 mile range. After about 10 miles (or one hour) the shortcomings of this saddle become painfully obvious. I purchased it in the store and didn't research it beforehand to see that its recommended for stationary bikes. It would work great for that since you typically wouldn't be on the seat for hours like you would in an outdoor ride. I'm shopping for a new saddle. I purchased it because it is one of the few saddles available in 165mm or wider. The wider saddles mostly seem to be giant, heavy gel filled things that wouldn't be suitable for my riding style.
Saddle for Trainer
We needed an inexpensive comfortable seat for our trainer bike. This looked like it would work. Tried it out and for what it's used for it works perfectly. I did an hour at mid to high intensity and had no issues. If you need an entry saddle for your road bike or in house trainer I would recommend this item.
A very good seat for the price
there were three saddles of choice and this one was the cheapest and REI has really good products so there was no problem with this at all
A great all-around seat.
Very comfortable and much lighter than the seat it replaced.
