Perfect purple ski pants
Unsolicited compliments while skiing in these! I think it was probably the color that attracted attention, but they are cute and do make you happy to wear them. They are 100% windproof, but not insulated. I would recommend at least a midweight baselayer underneath for even 20+F temps, and more for colder temps. Really nice deep pockets, excellent venting, and I like the clip and snaps on the waistband. My daughters tried them on and they are not stretchy, but have a loose enough fit that they are forgiving and fit multiple heights/shapes.
Good quality, odd sizing
The Arc’teryx ski pants are a fun color and seem to be very well made, but unfortunately run on the smaller size and aren’t forgiving for those with curves. The waist is narrow and fastens with snaps and a buckle that doesn’t adjust. That said, if the waist fit, then I think the knees/ankles would likely look too baggy. Of much less importance, the pants are quite noisy when walking :). On the up side, the zippers are well placed and seem to be good quality (easy to open/shut even though the pants were very tight). The vents would be a great size for warm days and the pants would easily fit over any ski boot (likely including heaters). All in, these are high quality pants, but the unforgiving sizing makes them difficult to recommend.
Love these pants
Love these pants. The color is really nice. The material is light but kept me warm both downhill skiing and the next day wore cross country skiing and very comfortable both weight and temperature. The pockets are great big enough to hold my phone and the zippers on the side control temperature very well. Love these ski pants
Not for long legged folks; athletic build size up
Have not worn these skiing, this review is for sizing: I'm 5'8", short torso, long legs, slim frame and have bigger butt/thighs with smaller waist during ski season, about 135-150. Generally wear a size 4, chose the size based on the chart. Putting on normally: little tight getting over butt, waist buttons up fine without effort, doesn't feel too tight if I'm not moving. Trying to simulate ski positions: knees are not articulated in the right place for my legs and the seat feels too restrictive, making lunging & squatting problematic. The version I got was not roomy - I would not be able to add a mid-layer but would be fine with long johns. Material is pretty loud but feels sturdy.
Super functional, but not pretty
I bought the Sentinel in "Techno" to replace a dark pinkish red pair I bought about 8 years ago for skiing. They go the distance, especially as winters are getting warmer and you layer less. Hot pink onscreen they turned out to be a disappointing lilac. I don't know why Arcteryx cannot get onscreen colours right. So many other websites manage it but if that's too big of an ask, could we please get descriptions of the colours ordinary humans can understand, i.e. techno = lilac. It would save so much time. I'd also really appreciate some bright, warm colours that are super useful in whiteout or low visiability conditions. I have waited year after year but your colours are increasingly dull.
Need smaller sizes in a Tall option (2-T, 4-T)!!
I own a couple of these from over the years. I love them - my go to skiing pants for any weather, but I do wish they were LONGER. Arcteryx pants run short and for those of us who need sizes smaller than a 6, there aren't any options! I'm not particularly tall - 5'6, 130lbs, and wear either a 2 or 4 in Arcteryx (depending on how loose I want the fit), but these pants always end a couple inches short of my ankles once I have my boots on. Ideally, the pants would go all the way down to my ankles with ski boots on! Acrteryx, please, please make sizes 2 and 4 with a Tall inseam!!
Multi-functional and flattering
I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. Arc’teryx knocked it out of the park with the women’s Sentinel shells! First of all, I love the color! It’s unique, flattering and makes a statement on the hill. The fit is flattering a functional, leaving room for my base layers depending on the weather and temperature. I will say I have never been able to utilize pockets on my ski pants either due to accessibility or absence. The Sentinels have pockets directly on the front of the thighs which are easily accessible especially when riding the lift. The phone sleeve is convenient inside the right pocket. Both sides of these pants unzip to open a large vent for cooling down and I can see how this would be especially useful after hiking to get to an isolated run. As always, their zipper construction is impeccable and makes the entire garment wind and waterproof. The whole garment has the most intricate construction including flat seams, ultra-durable fabric, Arc’teryx compatible components and the highest quality materials. I usually wear a size 8 or 10 and I’m 5’ 6” and these fit perfectly. The belt is easy to adjustment, so the waistband fits your natural waist.
Great if you size up!
Just picked up these ski pants in “storm glow”, which is an awesome pinkish lilac. Love the unique colour - could be a bit brighter but it’s a nice change from black/green/blue. I did some extensive review reading before selecting a size: I’m a size 6 according to the size chart (w28 h38), but decided on a 10 and am very glad I did. I think could wear an 8 fairly comfortably, but in a low lunge (I’m going to be doing some slack country touring in these), I need the room in the 10. So ladies with any sort of muscles, size up 1 for sure, but consider 2 sizes, especially if you want to wear anything underneath. The waist is a bit big on the 10, but the buckle cinches nicely. And the inseam is shorter than usual on the regular (which is great for me at 5’6). Besides the frustrating sizing, I’d love to see some better features -for example, I love the big thigh vents but I prefer when they’re lined with mesh so snow doesn’t fall in.
Don't size up!
These are very high quality and would be great but... I followed advice from other reviews and sized up. Big mistake as they are HUGE. Legs are very baggy and they are too long -- fyi I am 5'6" I think the legs would still be baggy on the size down, so I will get something different.
Worst fitting/looking pair of ski pants I have eve
These pants feel thin and stiff and they seem to be made with bent knees so that if your knees are not bent, which is most of the time, you look like you're wearing an elephant skin. I wouldn't wear these if you paid me.
