$80 purchase covered $585 in entrance fees

I love this pass, it’s acceptable for all day pass needs at US forrest service land, got me into 8 National Parks, and some locations even offer discounted camping fee’s with this pass. Honestly don’t believe the 3 negative reviews for this product; 1: they always come pre-punched from the month you purchase, and are valid for 12 months. 2: REI doesn’t punch them, the US government does. 3: it’s clearly explained in the features section that one pass covers a carload of people not just an individual

The pass should not be punched until it is first used at a park. The rangers punch them at their first use. So, I’m out two months.

Must Have for Road Trips!!

Purchased our National Parks pass before road tripping through Arizona and Southern Utah. No issues at all with the entrance stations at Zion, Grand Canyon, Glen Canyon National Rec Area or Carlsbad in NM. Stopping into REI before heading out saved us so much time and money. Having the Parks Pass has motivated us to travel and camp as much as possible this year, even gearing up to try backcountry backpacking. Since passes are valid for one full year from purchase, we’re already planning another road trip in the spring. Love being outdoors and supporting our National Parks, win win!!

Read the instructions!

Was able to order over the phone for a present, and needed faster shipping. They were very helpful. Also, too many people complaining about the card being "punched". READ the instructions!! It tells you that the card is valid from the PURCHASE DATE, NOT FIRST USE!!! Interesting that people have time to write a complaint, but no time to read.

5 stars to balance out bad reviews

The description for the pass explains everything. It's not complicated, y'all. All you have to do is read a few simple sentences. The people giving bad reviews must be the same kind of people who try to take selfies with bison at Yellowstone.

Missing hangtag

I too received the pass in the mail today. Nicely packaged envelope, but the hangtag was missing. Fortunately I had saved the hangtag from last year's pass so I can use it to hang the pass in the car dashboard. But I expect it would have been very inconvenient for those who don't have one. In case the hangtag is no longer included with the pass, I wish the item description. were updated accordingly in REI's website. Apart from this issue, the pass itself arrived on time and in good condition, punched correctly.

Best value for the money

I've been buying these for several years, and if you ever hike and/or visit any Federal Land, it pays for itself many times over. It means I don't have to buy regional parking passes like the Adventure Pass or Northwest Forest Pass, and I can get the whole family into a National Park using one pass (it's good for the car).

Great Pass

I bought this pass before starting a cross-country adventure with my son. Having just visited five national parks during our trip, I more than made my money back on my purchase. Also, it was very easy to use - you just hand the pass with your ID to the park ranger and you are in! An added benefit is that you won't hesitate to visit a park at the end of the day because with the pass you get unlimited entry to all of the national parks without paying extra. I highly recommend it if you like visiting the national parks.
