Smartwool  Thermal Merino Base Layer Hoodie - Men's

Overall pretty happy with this hoodie. I like the thickness and even with my long arms, the medium sleeves are good enough (ideally I would have a little longer) The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I had hoped the neck would come up higher in the front. I would recommend this top, especially since I bought it to replace my Leadville plastic version. I really like the contrast stitching, but I don't know if the sleeve symbols have meaning, dinosaur skeleton and tree.

I love this! I have had a quarter zip 250 weight SW baselayer for several years now that is a standard part of my wardrobe for field work, downhill skiing, ski touring, backpacking, cross country skiing, running, etc and I have always thought a baselayer hoodie would be the perfect addition, and here it is! I've only had it for a week but so far I love it! The only qualm is that the hood could be a bit snugger fit to fit under other hoods/helmets/etc, given that it is a baselayer.

This hoodie is a game-changer for camping and snowboarding! The 100% merino wool is super soft, breathable, and keeps me warm without overheating. It wicks moisture, resists odors, and works great as a base layer or on its own. The snug hood and thumbholes add extra warmth, perfect for cold-weather adventures. Whether I'm hitting the slopes or truck camping, this is my go-to layer. Worth every penny!

My husband loves this hoodie - he has two now! He wears it when we skin up the mountain. It's perfect for warmth of the head/ears - but also for sun protection. My only complaint is that you don't make these for women? I don't understand why you don't. I bought one from a different brand for me but the opening was too small for the face. Please make one for women!

Very interesting pattern caught my attention. Good quality as usual Neck is open and not skin tight. But remaining shape is skin tight. I like this as it’s new to my winter wardrobe having the hoodie I don’t like the chilly feeling on the back of my neck when it’s exposed to the weather elements. So this will fix that issue as a nice base layer. All good.

I travel a lot in Winter and I don't worry about taking a lot of clothes! I take one of my lighter weight base layers and put a heavier weight base layer over that and with a jacket, I am ready to go!! It's so easy to pack now!! Plus, if I'm going to be gone for 4 days I just take one extra set besides the one I am wearing on the plane!!

I'm really excited about this base layer! It pairs perfectly with the matching pants for ultimate comfort, keeping me dry and cozy even in the harshest climates. They're ideal for all my camping, hiking, and snowboarding adventures! And the green color is just stunning against the rainy forest backdrop. I can't wait to get more!

Had a stable of these great hoodies, but they finally gave out after tons of use. Went to replace, and the color selection is nonexistent. Had to buy the cotton blend hoodie to get colors I wanted, and they are like pure cotton shirts. I know the kids like 'soft' these days, but dance with the one that brought you.

I use it while walking my dog…if it's too windy I throw the hood up. I skied Alpine yesterday and the hood fits under my helmet and keeps the wind off my neck. I skied Nordic today and it fits under my hat. One product improvement would be to add a collar that I could pull up over my face.

I live in the northeast part of the country and the climate is cold in the winter. I love my Smartwool base layers. I have had earlier versions of this base layer and I was able to get a newer version on sale (lucky me!!!). I tried it on and the material is super soft and comfortable.
