I’ve been debating on a pair of down pants for over a year now. I’m an avid overall wearer, so when I saw these it felt like a no-brainer. Fit can be difficult for me at times so I was a bit nervous. They are great!! I’m a size 14-16 so I ordered the XL. I have plenty of room to move in them without worrying I’ll tear them. I work outdoors year round, so I always need warm and moveable gear. These are perfect! I walk my dog in them, work all day in a tree nursery, I can even ski in them. They are simply the best. Cotopaxi continues to deliver with durable comfort that I can feel good about purchasing. Cheers to this brand for its sustainability and the most comfort I’ve ever experienced in outdoor gear!
I wore my new Fuego down overalls this past week while visiting Bryce Canyon National Park. What a wonderful layer to carry when exploring the canyons where you can be warm and comfy while baking in sunny, calm environment and suddenly chilled to the bone in extremely windy and overcast conditions. I was hiking the Fairyland loop, and initially didn’t need the overalls, but when I started descended into the canyon I became very cold. The overalls were such a treat to have in my pack! Easy to carry, layer over hiking clothes and move on without delay. Totally worth it!! Great gear that I will travel with anywhere in winter conditions.
I was worried a pair of down pants would look like a big diaper, but these overalls were cute, cozy and I pretty much wore them non-stop during a recent trip to Alaska. I can't wait to put these on under my ski bib this winter. Easy to get in and out of, great pockets. No regrets!
I live in Vermont and saw someone wearing these at the dog park a month ago. I bought mine the next day since they were on sale. They are incredibly warm but so lightweight and I don’t feel confined at all. There were a few really cold days with high winds, and other people were complaining about how cold and uncomfortable they were. I was cozy, and because they’re bibs, they keep your core warm. I’m worried about ripping them so I don’t think I would wear them many places, but they’re comfortable and light enough to wear inside. If you’re on the fence, buy them.
Love these pants! I wore them on a group winter hike today (just below freezing temps), and fielded so many compliments. “Are they as warm as they look?” Yes. Yes they are. I can’t wait to test them out in colder weather in the next few weeks. I already like them enough that I ordered the matching coat. Fit is loose and perfect for layering. I’m 5’9” and the large are a great length. They have a roomy fit, but they are still super-lightweight and condense easily so there’s no issue with density or bulk when throwing a jacket on top.
I was looking for a pair of down pants to easily throw on as an additional layer for the morning and evening dog walks in WI winters. The bibs are warm, and the olive green color is fun and looks the same in person from what it shows online. Size Small fit is good- I’m 5’ 6”, 130lb and have a long torso. In the super windy & below zero temps, I could feel the wind through a little bit, so I’ve thrown a windproof layer over (like a rain pant) to have the ultimate weather protection. The elastic straps are plenty stretchy, but would love a style where the straps can be unfastened to make it a little easier to get in to these instead of unzipping the one side and climbing in from there. Overall, these are a great addition to my winter wardrobe and on par with what I expected.
It's summer, so I haven't gotten to wear these properly. I tried them on and they fit. They were a little big on me, but I'm a weird in between a medium and a large size. I'm 170lb and 5'6". I carry that weight in my hips and these had plenty of room for all my parts with space for layers underneath. I can't speak to warmth, as it's 85 degrees in my part of the world and everything is warm. I love Cotopaxi gear though and am already looking forward to putting these on after a long day on the slopes.
Cotopaxi's overall delivers a true-to-size fit, keeping in mind that the cut around the stomach to hips area is very loose. I initially intended to use this product for snowboarding, specifically as an underlayer beneath a shell jacket and bib, but here are some issues: 1. The non-detachable suspenders make it awkward to put on and take off. 2. There is a single full-length zipper only on the left side. This design choice is impractical, as zippers on both sides make it easier to take off while touring/out on the mountain without taking off any additional layers or boots. 3. The absence of a drop-seat design adds inconvenience for bathroom breaks, limiting its practicality. While it is suitable for leisurely use due to its warmth, the lack of essential technical details makes it unsuitable for winter sports.
I bought these overall for my girlfriend for Christmas. She absolutely loves them! Here is her review: “These are truly the best overalls ever! First off, the insulation is absolutely top-notch. They’re warm enough to keep you cozy on chilly days without feeling bulky or stiff. The fabric is soft yet durable, so you know they’re built to last, but still give you that comfortable, lived-in feel right from the start. The fit is spot-on—plenty of room to move around, whether you’re working or just lounging, but they don’t sag or feel too loose. Plus, the adjustable straps let you find the perfect fit every time. The pockets are practical and well-placed, making it easy to keep your essentials handy. Whether you’re braving the cold outdoors or just want a comfy, stylish layer to wear all day, these insulated overalls check every box. They’re cozy, functional, and have a great modern look that works for both work and play. 10/10, would recommend!”
The women’s sizing is off. I took measurements for my wife before buying, and she was on the cusp between S and XS. I went with small and it’s huge on her. Not even close really. A shame because the men’s sizing was correct. I’m sure if it had fit, my review would be higher; at least 4 stars.
