HOKA  Stinson 7 Trail-Running Shoes - Women's

These shoes are garbage. I’ve never had a pair of shoes shred the way these shoes have. The toes split, the rubber is peeling away, and the heels have multiple holes. Also, the wide base actually makes you more likely to fall while working out on an in even surface. I had to stop wearing them for walking outside but they looked so bad with giant holes where the fabric on the toe meets the rubber they are embarrassing to wear for work as well. On top of it, the REI manager tried shaming me for returning them saying I wore them out. They are $170 shoes that I did light walking in and stood around at work in. Isn’t that a sign that it’s the shoes that are the problem? Never buying Hoka again

I've owned these shoes for several months now and they are probably the best pair of running shoes I've ever owned. I have a pretty significant pronation issue and in the past I've also battled plantar fasciitis. To my knowledge, Hoka is the only company currently making a legit trail running shoe that provides pronation control, and my feet are SO grateful. These shoes are comfortable on roads while also providing good traction for wet winter trail running. Seriously worth the $170.

These shoes are only good because they’re the only shoes available for my the shape of my feet (flat and square-ish) and the purpose (trail running). They’re also the most comfortable of the different brands. The current Stinson model is terrible! Sole is separating from the upper so rocks get in, the stylish stuff on the upper peeled off within two weeks of wearing and the plantar portion of the sole had worn out more than any other shoe I’ve had in my 25 years of running. These are very expensive and not worth the price.

I have worn Stinsons for years, through Ironman races, 25K trail races, half marathons etc and they have never let me down. As an older athlete I need a supportive cushion shoe that crosses over to road from trail and these are great for that. I had 4 pairs of the Stinson 6 and now have 3 pair of Stinson 7. The reason i have so many as they keep changing the shoe even within different versions of the same model. My first pair of Stinson 7s were a dream. Plush and comfortable. My second pair purchase 6 mos ago a nightmare, they hurt just to walk 2 miles in! My 3rd pair I got for christmas and they feel hard as well but not quite as bad. Fortunately I had a pair stashed from earlier this year and they feel ok. I am not sure what HOKA does to mess these up but such a tragedy to ruin such a great shoe. Fingers crossed the next version goes back to what these should be.

I was looking for a trail/hiking shoe. When I read the reviews about the Stinson one reviewer commented that “if you’re familiar with the Bondi’s, this shoe is for you!” I love the Bondi shoe so I took a chance. Oh my goodness, they were right! I walked three miles in them the first day without a hitch! I’ve been walking in them 5-6 days a week (roughly 3- 5 miles/day) for the past month and I have not had any issues with them whatsoever. I plan to walk the Camino Frances next spring in them…hiking boots/shoes are too heavy for my taste and I’m a true Hoka believer.

Got these while waiting for the new Gaviotta to come out. Very happy with the support it gave me and the roomy toe box.

I have been using the previous Stinson for years and love them. They felt like a couch on your feet with great support. I didn’t like the old color, so when these came in, I had to have them because I love the pink hue. But sadly, this new version is so hard, my ankles hurt after using it doing an easy 3 mile flat hike. Not sure why the change, but I’m really considering returning it because of the discomfort.

I’ve been a dedicated Stinson wearer since 2014. These are a substantial downgrade from previous versions. Less arch support, harder soles, just less comfortable overall. I tried to remedy the issues with new insoles; they still just aren’t as comfortable for running as previous versions. I do not recommend these shoes.

I am 76 years old, with feet that are both long; and one of them is wide (from bunions). My rheumatologist told me to go to REI and ask for ladies trail runners. That is how I discovered HOKAs. I work quite a bit on my feet, and I love the cushion sole! The pair listed above are my third pair of Stimson ATR’s. The previous two pairs are Stinson 6 in a wide. These are Stinson 7, and they weren’t offered in a wide. The laces that came with the shoes were not long enough for me to widen the shoes, so I bought a longer pair of laces. I am still hoping I will be able to break in the left shoe to fit my wider foot. The shoes look great, and I get many compliments on how I am “stylin’” in them.😃

Ok. Comfortable with the HOKA fit, but tread is poor compared to other HOKA Stinsons. This is my third pair of the HOKA Stinsons and first time with this new model. I have slipped a few times in the two months I have used these. I use these for both trail running and hiking.
