Bought this for my nephew(8) this past Christmas. It got its first true test on a cold wet first snowboarding trip on January. With the dwr side out, and a hoodie underneath along with snow bibs not one complaint about cold. Most recently went camping, the jacket was worn from sun up to sun down 40° to 65° and the orange color we got is great for high visibility while doing outdoor activities or events. Looking forward to buying another once it's outgrown!
This puff lasted us almost 3 years and it was still in great shape after all the hiking, camping, offroading, school, playdates, rainy days, biking, scootering, and just wearing almost all the time when it would get chilly or even in the mountains! Seriously a good rei thermal a shirt and this puff was all my kids needed while it was SNOWING!!! but unzip it and poof its good up to like 60 degrees, my kids loved wearing these! I would've bought the next larger sizes if I knew this AMAZING puff would be discontinued! The hood was the right size, they could see out of it well, was not flopping all overt the place and it was also insulated so they were super warm with it up AND if that is all not enough, it was REVERSABLE!!!! and it weighed like nothing and packed small so I really don't know what else you could want from a kids mid weight jacket! BRING IT BAAACK PLEASE!!!
My 8 year old son wears this jacket in medium. I love that it’s sooo lightweight and warm. I can easily roll it up and put it in our pack. He also wears this to school and it’s doing well after taking a good beating. Love that it’s reversible as well, sometimes he switches from yellow to blue. We just had to cut off the tags so it doesn’t look weird when he switches the colors.
