It was what I expected. A much more comfortable experience. Worth the investment. It made going for longer distances much easier.
Nice and Cushy
I am using this gel seat instead of the thin one included with my Oru Inlet. Very comfy. Nice level of cushioning. I was truly a novice when I bought my kayak, and no directions came with the gel seat, so I was unsure whether the get seat should be used in addition to the included thin seat, or instead of it, or whether it just sits on top of the included this seat, or gets tucked under the thin seat belt holder. I chose to use only the gel seat, and I do tuck it under the belt holder. My suggestion would be to include a brief description of how to the gel cushion, for newbies like me. It dries fairly quickly. It does seem to fit inside the folded kayak just fine (but I don’t include the original thin seat).

You NEED this seat!!!
I paddle in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreatiin Area. Before this seat I’d use the standard seat plus 1 or two gel seat cushions which worked okay … but this seat works BETTER than the 3 I’d sometimes use before. I’ve used it to paddle for nearly 9 hours (I had never paddled for this long before getting this seat, and I add 1 of my old gel inserts for my 6+ hour paddles) and can’t imagine any other setup working as well. This seat rocks!
First timer
I am new to kayaking. I found the Beach Sport intuitive and easy to assemble and disassemble. I have venture out twice last week. My 1st experience was one of learning how to relax and become centered in the kayak. My 2nd time built upon my 1st experience. I like the portability of the ORU Beach. I am 72 yrs old and enjoying my new hobby.
My partner commandeered my first one!
I bought a gel seat for my Oru Kayak, but I also use it in my Hornbeck canoe...it is very comfortable. Then my partner complained of the discomfort of the driver's seat in his car, and I let him try my Oru Gel Seat, and I couldn't get it back! I've had to buy another for this season's paddling.
Difference maker
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The main thing holding me back from long paddle sessions was the default seat. I’d make it roughly an hour before needing to get to shore to stand up, but with the gel seat I can go for hours without issue! I’d consider this to be almost as essential as a paddle for the experience!
Gel seat huge difference
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Makes a big difference in kayaking for longer distances in the Oru. Start to feel a little bit uncomfortable after about mile three. It also gives you a little bit of lift from the bottom of the kayak you feel like you’re sitting up from the bottom a bit. It’s a good thing.
