KEEN  Elle Backstrap Sandals - Kids'

These are a gigantic rip off and so far below the quality I expect from KEEN. The pictures speak for themselves, but my kids wore these while doing normal kid things (with playgrounds being the harshest environment they ever saw) and the bottoms wore away before we were halfway through the summer season. Now we're getting into fall and maybe putting them away for the year and I just found holes in the bottoms. Absolutely terrible quality control on this product. I paid full price for these thinking I would have them for years and be able to hand them down, and they didn't even last ONE YEAR. I would not recommended you even buy these on sale - such a waste of money and material!

Elles sont très belles. Par contre, la semelle n’est vraiment pas de bonne qualité, car le caoutchouc se défait très rapidement. Elles étaient les sandales d’intérieur pour l’école de ma fille de 6 ans et elles étaient brisées avant la fin de l’année. Je ne recommande vraiment pas. Heureusement, j’ai obtenu un crédit de Keen.

These have been a great shoe for our daughter this summer. She loves how easy they are to put on. She also says they are comfortable. They transition in and out of water well. She is 4 and has worn them every day this summer. The colors are still bright and the shoe shows very little wear. I prefer the closed toe sandals for protection when bike/scooter riding but she has not hurt her feet in these sandals.

My daughter loved how these looked, but they are already starting to get a hole in the sole after only wearing them for this summer. The soles don't seem as thick as other sandals and we are disappointed, since we expect more from Keens. Now it is mid-summer and we need to figure out another pair of summer shoes for her.

I buy my daughter a new pair of outdoor type sandals every year and this one has been her favorite so far. She started wearing them daily, including to school and had no issues running around with them. I measured her shoe size with a tape measurer and used the size guide to buy online and it was very accurate. They seem to have the same great keen quality so little sister should get to enjoy them just the same in a couple of years.

I bought a size 9 for 3yr old thinking she’ll grow into them this summer (she still fits in her size 8 Newport sandals) but they’re just the right size and may not even last the summer if she keeps growing. I would say they run slightly smaller than other keen sandals if the same size. That being said, my daughter loves them. They’re comfy and she can get them on/off easily herself!

Bought this pair for my daughter had they instantly started to fall apart on the soles, rubbing off bit by not as she walks. After only a month of wear they look old and ratty. I would suggest buying a different style of keens that will hold up better.

These have lasted us a year - my kiddo wore them all summer long, and they've also made not-infrequent appearances in fall, winter, and spring. I've machine washed them countless times, and they've held up well. Some of the other keens styles would run my kid's heel, but these have been very comfortable. A favorite!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a 65 year old woman with children's size feet. I love Keen shoes. I have knee issues. Keen shoes are supportive when most children's shoes are not. What is best is that many styles do not appear childish. My only wish would be that there are more style choices for me. I highly recommend Keen shoes.

My kid has worn these for walks around the neighborhood for about two months. The thin sole on the bottom--almost like nothing but a coating of rubber--has already worn off, and there are fabric shreds coming out all over. They won't last the season. Keens used to last us much longer. So disappointed.
