Review and Install Tips
We love our Urban Glide 2 stroller. Initially, we bought the infant bassinet and used it daily for the first three months. As our daughter grew, she was ready to see out and explore more, so we switched to the infant inlay. She seemed super happy and safe with the insert. Now, we have both the bassinet and the infant inlay and plan to use them with our second child since we already own them. If you're looking to save money, the infant inlay is a great choice. We loved it. We had heard that the instructions were complicated, but once we had the stroller, it made more sense. I've attached pictures to help other buyers. **Instructions:** 1. **Disconnect the Harness:** - Pull the harness strap out of the clip. I've attached images with the strap circled in yellow to show what I'm referring to. - Repeat on both sides so you have two shoulder parts and two loose straps disconnected. 2. **Place the Inlay:** - Simply place the inlay on top of the stroller seat and feed the straps through the holes. 3. **Reconnect the Straps:** - Once everything is pushed through the insert, reconnect the strap pieces so you can buckle in your child.
Great Product with the Worst Instructions Ever
The inlay is of great quality and works wonderfully for our newborn. The instructions, however, are of terrible quality and seem to have been drawn by a baby. A drunk baby. The instructions specify that the inlay is compatible with multiple products. We have the Urban Glide 2 Double, and the drawn instructions as they apply to that stroller are unclear, out-of-order, and flat out wrong. I've attached pictures showing the inlay after installation. My suggestions are as follows: 1) Unthread the shoulder straps completely before putting the inlay into position. This means first threading the straps through the D-rings (step 4A in the instructions). But then also thread the strap through the plastic buckle. Remove the straps from the fabric loops of the hip pads. 2) Put the inlay into position and pull all the pieces through the slits. Fold the wedge underneath, towards the headrest. 3) Put the headrest in place and pull the shoulder harnesses through it. 4) Pull the straps through the hip slits from underneath. Thread them through the fabric loops of the hip pads. Thread them through the plastic buckles. Thread them through the D-rings on the shoulder harnesses (step 4C in the instructions). During this step, ensure that the straps and plastic buckles are oriented so that you can buckle the straps without any twists in the straps. Thule: be better. When you are creating products for frazzled parents operating in a haze of sleeplessness, don't skimp on making the instructions clear. I trusted you to make my life easier and you insulted the value of my time. How could your team not think to put together an instructional video specifically for the Urban Glide stroller? How could you resolve that one set of instructions for two different strollers with two different designs was appropriate? How could you think that giving alcohol, a pen, and a piece of paper to a baby and pawning off the results as instructions was a good idea? After finishing the installation and doing some deep breathing exercises, I've used the inlay with my child. She is happy as a clam. The inlay itself really is wonderful and works really well. I would rate it 5-stars if not for the instructions. I don't want to discourage anyone from buying it. Just be aware that the instructions are not clear. Hopefully this review will make it easier for other parents.
Instructions flat out wrong. Good product
I'm surprised the instructions for the Thule newborn inlay made it past Thule's legal department. They're completely wrong. I don't know if following the directions would risk a child's safety, but it seems feasible. In this case, Thule has essentially outsourced their legal, copy, and design departments to paying customers. We gave them money and then did the work of explaining to other customers how to install the product. Should they not be paying us for our labor? Product works well when installed according to customers' instructions.
Impossible instructions
I bought this with the urban glide 3. The instructions make no sense. There are no YouTube videos on how to interval this into the UG3 and the actual Thule website has a video for an unrelated stroller with different straps. For the price of this equipment I would like to know that I have a safe setup but I have no idea if my baby is sitting in it correctly. Doesn’t look like the picture that’s for sure. I would not recommend this product to a friend, but I would recommend the stroller. So I guess you’re stuck buying it if you want to use the UG3 without the car seat adapter. Also the inlay is beige, bit grey like in the photo. I’ve rated the value low because of the time I’ve wasted trying to figure out this product. If I consider my hourly wage that I would make while working, Thule owes me a refund in this product plus wages. This should be a 5 minute install, Thule fix your instructions or make a video for the UG3
Install issues
I have not been able install insert on Urban Glide 2. The instructions provided are 3 pictures that are unclear. I could not find a video. It would be great if customer service could send me a video of an install or instructions with words. At this point I would not recommend buying for the urban glide.
Dangerous Instructions
Dangerously unclear instructions, and according to thules response to similar reviews, wrong instructions. Shameful such a reputable company will distribute a product intended to safely transport newborn children without clear instructions. Even worse, have not adressed with an updated manual or video.
Love this add on for my Urban Glide 2!
Arrived packaged in a very nice box and was easy to install on my Thule Urban Glide 2 after watching the video. My infant looks comfortable using the inlay and I have the added benefit of extending the life if my stroller and being able to go on longer walks in comfort.
High Quality
This is so soft and works great with the Thule Spring! Especially since the stroller reclines back. This makes it compatible for newborns without the extra bill or expense of a separate bassinet.
Perfect
Super easy to install! Just involves unthreading the straps . Lays my 2 month old flat in the Glide 3 Double. Glad I got it so he doesn’t need to be in the car seat all the time.
