Handle is flimsy; good customer service

I’ve had this cooler for four months or so now. The good: the wheels roll very well, and the biker kit works just fine. Theres just no other rolling collet built for this. Add on the landr bin and it’s a full picnic kit. The bad: the outer shell broke quickly. I’m willing to believe it was a fluke b/c they quickly replaced it and the second one hasn’t had a similar issue. The handle has broken, however, on both of them. It’s very flimsy. Still, customer service quickly replaced it again. Ice retention is fine; not bad not spectacular. If your just putting it in the trunk, get a Yeti. But if you really need and will use the wheels, it’s unparalleled.

New version appears to resolve previous issues!

I preordered the new and updated version of this cooler (reviews prior to March 2025 are for the older model). I believe I am one of the first to receive the new version, so wanted to provide some feedback for others considering this new version. First off, the issue with the handle seems to be resolved. The handle on this updated cooler is very sturdy, locks easily, and even has a little kick plate at the bottom to help tip when it’s heavy. Sand and dirt might still be an issue over time, but there’s nothing flimsy about this handle. The locks are surprisingly easy to open and close (quite a clever design, actually). There are also now two carry handles if you need to pick it up, and it’s a full 9 lbs lighter than the last model. It rolled right over the grass and baseball fields like butter, the wheels are such a clutch feature. The inside is well designed and the drain plug has a handy little stopper to keep it from falling out and getting lost. Water drains very easily. I LOVE the inside little bin, it’s perfect for lunch meats and veggies and things you don’t want directly on the ice. I’ve only tested it for 10 hours in 70 degree weather so can’t fully speak to ice retention. We did open and close it quite frequently and there was only a small amount of water at the end of the day, so I’m hopeful it will meet our needs for 2-3 night trips. I purchased an umbrella holder attachment directly from the company that I LOVE. I’m so pleased with this purchase so far that I’m going back for more accessories. I’m very happy I took a risk on ordering the updated version, it’s such a standout product in a very saturated market, and the price point is right.

Ideal or 2 and smaller SUV like our Wrangler.

Looks like a refurbished or returned cooler was sent out as new. I assume REI just warehoused new inventory so the issue likely is from manufacturer. Scratches, die impressions and dirt or sand in seems so kind of feels like someone else used it prior. REI made it right with additional discount as it was anything but new. The sunny yellow color isn't quite as bright as the pics seem to make it and is more pastel in color. From an integrity and design point, I love this cooler. Deep main storage and the see thru dry bin can be positioned anywhere from far left middle or right making it a versatile accessory. Wheels actually have tubes so will be adding Slime to seal any holes that will happen given how many thorns are here in AZ. Very sturdy handle with NO flex like cheaper coolers and the design allows the lid to fully open even when the handle is extended. 2 thumbs up.

This has to be my favorite cooler! It’s so compact and easy to travel with! It fits soooo much! And I’m shocked at how cool it keeps ice, it’s been a week since i used it and the ice is still inside! This cooler is a must for every occasion!

Rugged cooler with great features

We've had this cooler for about 5 years now and I use it several times a month at the beach or strapping it to the back of our truck and taking it to the lake. It is rugged, takes a beating, keeps frozen goods frozen for hours on the road to get to our remote cabin. Keeps drink and food cold throughout the days on the dock or in the hot sun on the beach. We've bought pretty much all of the accessories and they are fantastic. We've had to replace the handle after banging the other ones to pieces on various stairs. My only complaint, if I had to have one is that it is heavy! But I love it and recommend it to everyone that sees it and asks about it.

Best cooler ever!

So I am a USA Archery judge who worked Collegiate Nationals in June where, due to protocols, they didn’t have a cooler of water for us in the extreme heat and humidity. Fortunately one of the other Judges brought his Sasquatch type cooler from home so we could stay hydrated. I noticed he had to put it in a wagon daily since it had no wheels. I had another event coming up, JOAD Nationals in Alabama in July, so my husband said buy a good cooler. After much research, I decided on a RovR 45 for my trip. As it turned out, they agreed to provide a cooler at the event, so my RovR stayed in the car, with the windows rolled up, in Alabama in July, with ninety something degree heat and high humidity for 5 days! My original 20lbs. of ice was still there till day 4!!! Best cooler ever!!!

Best Cooler for the Beach

I got tired of dragging Igloo and Rubbermaid coolers with their tiny hard wheels across the soft sand at the beach. And Yetis are way overrated. So I tried the RollR45. The first day I used the standard wheels and it worked great, but the second day switched to the beach wheels and it was like floating across the sand. This is a great cooler that keeps your stuff as cold or colder than in the refrigerator after 8 hours in the Florida sun. Well built and great customer service. You won't be disappointed!

2nd Time around

Greetings.... I have to say I am very impressed with your product(s). So impressed, this is my 2nd purchase. My first was the RollR 60 back in Oct of 2019. Now the RollR 45 this year....and once again very happy with everything about these products. The creativity in design, durability, functionality of accessories and endurance of keeping things cool / dry for extended periods of time even with frequent openings of either the 45 or 60. I look forward to using either of them any chance I get - also it is great conversation when folks ask me "what is that?" I think I need to be on your marketing team!!! Keep it up RovR Team...you got a great product here as far as I am concerned!

Baseball moms are so jealous of me!!

I bought this as a way to stop lugging the wagon with alllllll the stuff is travel sports moms need for tournaments. We have covered Hercules (“The Beast” from The Sandlot) with baseball stickers. He’s the best companion ever. The bin holds everything I need from snacks to KT tape. We have the cold packs since I hate losing room to ice. I put one in the night before to cool him down and then the next day replace with a fresh one and he is good to go for the whole weekend. So many moms have stopped me when they see how fast I am able to strap all my stuff to Hercules and go. No more loading and unloading the wagon, folding it up and finally getting out from long day. Best purchase ever!!!
