Superb price-to-quality, excellent wheel build

My main ripper is an all-arounder fixed gear which I use for everything from city bombing to road centuries to light trackpacking and adventuring. For a long time I've defaulted to using more road-appropriate wheels on it, which were beginning to feel a little wrong for the job as I've gotten older and more adventurous. Since the ubiquity of disc brakes now means there are a ton of great un-machined rims out there, I decided to a) build up a set of DT Swiss wheels, b) go wider than my 18mm racey rims (for more plumpness and stability on my 32 tires), and c) up my front spoke count (I was running an old road bike's radial laced 20-spoke, which was not great for bunnyhops or loose surfaces haha). I took my first test ride on the new wheel builds today — a nice, light, 31-mile, 1927-foot run through the Bay Area, CA — and I'm happy to report that these rims have met or exceeded my expectations in the new wheels. My 32 tires are fully expanded now so I'm sticking to the road, the higher spoke count in the front has me cornering with more confidence than I have in years, making descents and city bombing way more fun, and all the road chatter I used to get up through my body is gone. I love these — the price-to-quality ratio is unbelievable. If your needs are anywhere close to mine, you won't be disappointed. Get out there and get weird!
