Weird fit
I don't know what to make of this dress. The fabric and workmanship are good, but the cut is bizarre. There are definitely seams for darts, but they do nothing to create a curve around the breasts, so unless you're completely flat chested, you'll have giant underarm gaps. I would need to remove so much fabric to create a proper dart - 3" per side - that the straps will be set too wide. The only thing I can do to make this dress wearable is to rework the entire bodice into a pinafore. For the price, if it's going to spend that much time in my sewing room, I would have rather purchased fabric and made it myself.
Wish it still had the shorts!
Love that this dress has pockets that don't make the dress look bulky. The fabric is comfortable, moisture wicking and supports everywhere that needs support. It is the perfect amount of stretchy - keeps its shape but is comfortable - I just wish this version had the sewn-in shorts for the chub rub. I know you can buy the same shorts separately but I will likely forget to pack them on a trip!
Love the fit of this dress!
The cut of this dress is great for a a curvy "8" figure! Although a little snug in the bust for me (TrippleD), it is very flattering through the waist and hips. (I am 5'5" 140 lbs - size Medium). It is easy to wear with shorts or tights underneath if needed or "as is" on a hot day. Would LOVE LOVE LOVE more colors in warm-based tones (the current color options would not be flattering to my autumn skin tone), and/or simply a classic black: Yes, Please!
Not for tall girls
I suspected this dress would be too short for my 5’10” self and I was right- the hem hits mud Palm when I put my arms down. Returning this and buying another outdoor voices dress for adventuring.
