For boots: Add one half size to your street shoe size. You should be able to slip one finger behind your heel when you are standing up with the boot unlaced and your toes touching the front. If the boot is too short, your toes will get smashed walking downhill. Too long and your heel will slide up and down and give you blisters.

These boots are comfortable right out of the box. They're flexible enough to run in but provide great support to help avoid rolling your ankles. The soles absorb shock smoothly. My only critique is that I thought the soles would grip rock a little better than they did, but the grip seemed to improve after breaking them in some. Overall, these are great hiking boots and the best I've used.
This boot is such a good looking boot I had to write another review. It functions great and one of the best parts is the Gortex lining. Went 9+ miles with moderate stream crossings and never worried once about my feet and socks being wet (not talking fully submerged feet of course). The Vibram tread is also amazing on wet rocks. For my foot, La Sportiva runs big (euro sizing). In US size I wear a 9.5 but in euro I fit really well in the La Sportiva 9. I would say these feel narrow but not at all uncomfortable for my average width feet. Great shoe. Honestly, this shoe is really light feeling on my feet.
My son had the opportunity to use these boots at Philmont over the summer of 2022. Our trek took us 105 miles over all kinds of terrains and lots of elevation changes. We experienced all kinds of weather and these boots held up extremely well. They are pretty much broken in right out of the box. Combine these with a pair of Darn Tough socks and you are all set. One of our days had us crossing a stream 26 different times, often times were up to our ankles in water. Mother Nature decided that day to rain torrentially on us for 6 hours straight. At the end of the day my son's feet were completely dry. He had zero blisters or hot spots after the 12 day trek. I'd highly recommend these boots, however go and try them on before buying them. They are sized very weird and definitely run small. My son had to size up one full size and my wife had to size up a size and a half from their usual shoe sizes.
I initially thought these boots were too tight I debated returning them but they broke in really nice and now I love wearing them. I’ve used these boots hiking out trails to the crag and also around town when I didn’t have any causal shoes. In both scenarios I had no problem wearing them all day. I had absolutely no complaint with their performance hiking on steep or slippery trails. They also were comfortable enough to wear all day long and really didn’t need very long to break in. I consider myself to have narrow feet. These fit snug on my heels with a bit more room in the toes. I felt that they have nice ankle support. The laces are nice and smooth and feel really secure. My last pair of boots often had the laces snag on the lacing hooks so I appreciate how these lacing hooks prevent that from happening. Another feature I really like is the antibacterial lining, this avoids stinky boots (:
These boots were incredibly comfortable and supportive from the moment I put them on. I usually hike in trail runners so using boots was a bit of a change, but I quickly came to appreciate the additional ankle support and actually felt like I was able to hike much faster despite the additional weight. I took these out on a very hilly trail and stuck to the ground like glue due to the material and design of the soles, and that combined with the added ankle support made me barely even feel the hills. The waterproofing also works as advertised, I cinched down the laces as tight as I could without restricting my ankles and didn't get any leaks during a brief rain on the trail, and these have actually become by go-to rain boots for daily errands when it's wet outside due to their incredible grip. The only downside of these boots is that due to how sturdy and supportive they are you do finally start to feel some fatigue in your knees after walking or hiking all day in them, but if you hike a lot or don't mind a little soreness it's nothing terrible. High recommend these boots, and I think they look great with typical hiking attire as a bonus.
These boots are just alright. They feel fine but not exceptionally comfortable. They are very stiff even after I broke them in for a while before my first hike in them. They are fairly light. The lacing system is not great. When I go to take the boots off the laces usually come all the way out of the little yellow string loops making it just a bit more cumbersome to put them back on the next time. The water resistance is good for now. Water just beads up and falls right off. But that is only with the limited number of hikes I have done so far in these.
These are great boots! Off trail, wet rocks , mud isn’t a problem and these boots never fail! I highly recommend them. They’re really hard to size so try on multiple sizes bed sticking with one.
I bought these to wear for hunting and hiking, and they are incredible. I've been able to walk up and down steep creek beds without sliding for once. I haven't had any blisters or issues with hot spots. They are a lot lighter than I thought they would be too. These boots did not require any break-in time for me either. I typically wear a 9.5 in Vans authentics. I ordered these in 42.5 EU and found them to be perfect. I like these so much that I'm seriously considering getting another pair to have on hand for the day my current ones wear out.
It's got the grip of the Raptor with a more substantial boot. Waterproof didn't last a few months and the paneling split on one shoe. Both soles are beginning to detach from the upper. (I ironically bought this boot for its re-sole-ability). This boot has only been in action late last fall and this spring and not even so far this summer (Aug 6).
I'm surprised it fits and comfortable. I ordered this with Oboz hiking boot and that is going back. Online shoe orders is a guesswork because you wouldn't know how the shoe/boot fits so typically I return 4 out of 5. Although the photo on the website look better and smooth, the actual boot looks dull and brushed, not something to fancy at the town but it looks ready for the trails. You wouldn't care kicking rocks because it looks like you just hit the trails. It doesn't look bad but I wish it look just like the picture. The fit is amazingly perfect for my hard-to-find-the-right-fit kind of feet. And it is very light. I have yet to test it out and I can't wait. I just got it today.
