this is the Nitto B302
Nitto makes fantastic handlebars, and this one is no exception. It’s a comfortable and stylish swept back bar, 5 stars for Nitto making great bars. BUT just make sure this is the “North Road” bar you want… this is a Nitto B302 and although it is often referred to as a “North Road” handlebar, I am now aware there a few different Nitto bars that are also referred to as a “North Road”. For whatever reason this varies by vendor, and If you do a search for a North Road you’ll also get results for a Nitto B352 (which is the bar I thought this would be). It’s my fault for not paying closer attention to the dimensions and I would’ve realized that. The B302 (this particular handlebar) is also referred to as an “all rounder” also called a “Promenade” handlebar (confusing huh?). The B352 handlebar (which is sometimes referred to as a North Road Handlebar) is also referred to as a Nitto “Albatross” bar, which is the bar I wanted. I can’t blame REI for labeling this the North Road (why/how did this bar get so many names?!), but at the time of this review nowhere in the description or specs do they note this is the B302. if it was I wouldn’t of purchased this. (But I’m not going to return it. It’s still a very nice bar that I’ll use) Take a minute and do a search for Nitto B302, Nitto B352, Nitto North Road, Nitto All Rounder, etc., and you’ll see what I mean. It’s not just REI, but multiple outlets that label similar yet different handlebars as a North Road. If you’re looking for a B352 and get the B302 (this one), it’s going to be just a tad bit smaller… still though, I want to be clear that this is still a very nice handlebar! I’d recommend it to anyone who wants some nice swept back handlebars! So only 4 stars in this review to give REI the suggestion to include B302 anywhere in the description. If you’re like me who likes to build out custom bikes, or just a bike nerd looking the right part this would’ve been good to know!
