Good for riding, dangerous to walk.

Fairly comfortable, lightweight, breathable, stiff, and extremely unstable off the bike. I actually bought these a few years ago and returned them because i kept rolling my ankles putting my foot down at stop lights in the city. I since moved out to a more rural area where i rarely need to put a foot down, so i bought them again. Theyre just that good on the bike. I think the issue stems from the tread being in the middle of the sole rather than the outside. Its like walking on low cut ice skates. This is for the wide version, so maybe theyre using the same tread as the regular? Beats me. Don't buy if you have to hike a bike.

Exceptionally light, well built gravel shoes

These Shimano RX8 shoes are excellent. They are exceptionally light. They are well constructed. though the BOA tensioner string has been known to break on other shoes. I require a size 48 and these fit well. I installed Eggbeater cleats to work with my pedals. The Crankbrothers screws seemed to need careful threading into the metal plates inside the soles. It took several tries, being careful to avoid cross-threading. Once the screws were in place, the cleats are quite tight. I use the shoes on my Specialized Creo ebike, riding on concrete pavement. I felt faster and in more control, clipped in on the shoes than using hiking shoes on the previous flat pedals which I rode for a year as I recovered from a knee replacement. Yes, the shoes are high-end priced, but well worth the money.
