my favorite backpacking item
Honestly have no qualms with this filter. It’s lighter than alternatives (gravity filters, pump filters, grayl, etc), doesn’t make water taste weird, has a stellar flow rate, doesn’t get clogged like the competition does, easy to maintain, and doesn’t leak. 10/10!

Really great, until it wasn't.
I was so excited about this filter, it worked great for the first 2-uses, but on the 3rd use the flow rate had significantly reduced and ever since, it has almost no flow. I had only used it in crystal clear rivers and was disappointed at how quickly it failed. I've followed the cleaning instructions and even tried soaking in vinegar, but the flow rate is still extremely slow.

Tap water tastes better with it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was skeptical about the Hydrapak Flux water bottle because of the strange filter, but I could taste the difference when I drank tap water out of it. It's rather thick which helps whenever it may fall when full of water. I have a different filtered water bottle, but it is rather bulky so it takes a loud of room in my bag. This bottle can be flattened so that it leaves more space in my gym bag, or backpack.

Hulk hands needed.

I'm always down to try a new filter and was super excited about how light this one was. It boasts being able to filter 1000 liters of water, however, after using a few times, for a total of 5 liters, there is almost no flow. I squeeze that thing like the dickens and nothing comes out. I do noticed if the filter sits in water overnight the flow is better in the morning. Pretty disappointing.

Love it

I've used this on one backpacking trip and LOVE it so far! Works well, easy to drink from and use. The handle makes it easy to scoop water and carry. I like how the drinking nozzle has a cover and the bottle is a great size (1.5L). I will be bringing this on most of my outdoor adventures!

Stopped working 22 hours later...

I was so excited about this product! I was looking for a reliable water bottle with a filter for my 1+ year trip-around-the-world. Unfortunately, less than 24 hours later, the filter stopped working completely. I am carrying around a water bottle but it's kind of a pain to drink out of as I have to unscrew the lid with the filter attached to it each time for drinking. I just called REI customer service to see if they'd issue me a refund even though I am out of the country and they would not.

Flow stopped after a single use

I had high hopes for this filter after being a little disappointed in the Sawyer Squeeze. It worked great in testing when I first got it and I only used it to filter tap water. When I recently tested it for an upcoming backcountry trip the flow was virtually non-existent. I've followed the "cleaning" instructions to just shake it in tap water but that has done nothing to help. This has filtered a few liters of clean tap water in the last year and it's more or less useless now. Of course my return window recently closed. Really disappointing product.

Amazing for the trail!

The best thing in my pack! I am so glad I switched from a bladder to this bottle for backpacking. It was so easy to stay hydrated along the path and use this water to safely eat/drink at our site. I have been telling everyone about this bottle!

Superior quality!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hydrapak Flux 1.5L is a very high quality product. I'll get right into the 2 main things I love about it. #1, it folds up to take with you very easily by rolling/folding the bladder (bag) of this bottle which makes it convenient to transport on hikes/bikes etc. And #2 the bladder of this Hydrapak (bottle) is very, very durable. And I think this is what sets it apart from other products that are similar. Very high quality and durable. Nice filter on this, easy to clean, easy to transport. I love everything about this, and not to mention, the amount of water it holds. 1.5L is excellent.

Great for emergencies!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently got Hydrapak Flux 1.5 liter to try. This bottle is great for an emergency, or if you are out for a hike. It is a light weight collapsible bottle. Easy to carry along at all times. The bottle comes with a filter to give you 1500 liters of clean drinkable water. This bottle is very easy to store so you can use it when you need it.
