Way too tight

Ordered these to replace the Surly ETs which came with the stock Ogre and which I’d worn out. It was a nightmare trying to get the new tires on. I tried every useful hint I could find online: centering in middle of rim, using dawn dish soap, fighting for every bit of slack, etc. I ended up with misshapen tires which wobbled even though they were correctly seated. It is beyond my understanding. Took it to the LBS (more than one) where they confirmed my experience. Horrible

Best All-Road/Dirt Road Touring Tire

I've been running these tires on my COOP ADV 4.2 bike with Boyd Stumphouse wheels, and I had no difficulty getting them on the rim. I'm familiar with the struggles of tight tubeless tires and sympathize with those who had trouble with them, but I think it's the rim as much as the tire. I've done two weeklong loaded tours and several one-nighters not to mention local day rides. These tires are robust, sturdy and rugged and yet they are fast. I don't anticipate finding a better tire for touring or commuting.

WAY TOO TIGHT. Can't be hand mounted or unmounted

I am not reviewing the ride quality of this tire because it will not see any use. I spent 45 minutes forcing this 29" tire onto my rim (a Velocity Blunt SS) and managed to damage the rim in the process (punched a hole inside the rim using tire levers). I had to remove the tire to assess the damage and replace the rim tape which took another 30 minutes. This length of time is me standing at my bike work bench with all my tools at my disposal. If I needed to remove the tire on a ride for some reason (like a damaged sidewall needing to be tubed), there is no way I would be able to get the tire off the rim. Reviews for this tire have been really good, but some of the recent user reviews have made mention of this fit issue. In the 30 or so years I have been riding "name brand" bikes, this is the worst tire mounting experience possible.

Disappointed

Also had a horrible time mounting new tires. Wore out the original ETs which came with bike. Tried all the advice I could find on mounting them. Tires ended up misshapen and wobbly. I seriously don't know how I'd be able to change a flat on the road.

Find another tire

Same issues as others mentioned. Difficult to mount and wobbly even after seated and inflated properly.
