I was looking for a pack that I could use for rucking as well as day hikes. This Deuter pack was on sale and fit the bill for needs. The pack is great. Comfortable shoulder straps, waist strap, and chest strap.
Great pack for day hikes. It’s comfortable with a very helpful feature: you can unzip the long face of the pack for easy access to all contents including gear at the bottom. This is the right size for storing my emergency kit, jacket and layers (all-season). It performed well on winter hikes with multiple gear changes. It’s well made and has held up well for over a year. One con for me: no simple way to attach a water bottle holster to the front hip straps (no useful belt loops ).
