Great, but run very small
I bought these in both a medium and a large because I remember the medium being a bit tight. Indeed, the medium squeezes my toes like nobody’s business! I am a women’s size 8, so on the low end of the suggest size M range. The large, on the other hand, fit like a dream – my toes can actually wiggle and breathe. Ahhhh… And yet they still feel well-fitted – I don’t think these are going to slip off anytime soon. The grip on the inner heel is excellent! But mostly, they’re just a really well designed fit – once you get the size that will fit. Definitely size up!
Way too small, get one size up
I like these socks, except for the fact that they run way too small. Unless the design changed since I got them, I recommend getting one size up, e.g. buy L if your size is M, XL if your size is L etc. I used them less than a week, mostly indoors without shoes and got a hole under my big toe (granted, my big toe sticks out from the rest of the toes quite a bit, maybe that contributed). After the hole, I ended up buying one size up of the 'sibling' of these socks that have more cushioning just to get extra material so they would hold up. The new socks felt snug on my feet despite being size XL while my actual size is a smaller L.
Holes :(
Huge holes after just a month of wearing. I Love smart wool but this is disappointing.
No-Show Socks that Don't slip off your Heels!
I have a few of the older versions of these socks, which were nice but were a bit more "no-show". They worked fine in the beginning but after consistent use while running, they started slipping off my heels. I got more, not realizing that they had updated them and they are a game changer. They are still no-show, which is my preferred cut but come up higher on the sides and top. The fabric is comfortable. It is fitted without being constricting. And best of all, they don't slip off my heels during activities like running or hiking. I got 3 pairs and am definitely going to get some more.
Don't stay on
Unfortunately these don't stay on and get pulled off in the shoe. This is the first Smartwool product I've been unhappy with, so hopefully they will change the design in the future.
Wore on repeat!
I packed these socks along with a bunch of others for a recent 2 week Italian vacation with lots of walking. I quickly figured out that these were the only ones for my trip. They are super comfortable and no slip! I ended up having to wash them in the sink each night of my vacation so that they were ready for wear the next day. I will be replacing all of my old socks with these.
Poor Quality, don’t stay on in shoes
I’ve been so disappointed in Smart Wool the past few years. They cost reduced with different materials and the socks come down in my shoes. Thought I’d give them one more try, but I’m done and so are my friends, children and grandchildren.
Great No-Show Socks
On recommendation from sales associate, bought these Smartwool no-show socks for first time. I needed a thinner sock that would fit properly, not show, and stay dry and comfortable throughout the day. These socks are perfect, and I will buy again.
Not for loaders
Not cut like the older versions. These can’t be worn with loafers, but will work with sneakers and golf shoes. The front portion comes up too high to be worn with loafers and is visible with that style shoe, which is unfortunate as that’s the reason I bought these. I’m sure they’re work fine with other standard style shoes, but they don’t meet my intended use and that’s why they get the low rating.
