Great pack for a day hike - w caveat

First and big big issue- do NOT follow the instruction that comes with the pack to shorten to water line. (see attached photo of instructions). Both ends of the line are darn near impossible to get off and once you do they are doubly impossible to reattach. Mine is with the help of two REI employees who worked on it for over 30 minutes and it still isn't actually ALL the way on. The directions don't make sense since you ultimately have to cut off the little flare that makes it fit on the endpiece (see photo 2). Just don't do it. The pack itself is lovely - I actually bought it for hiking not biking as smaller option to my standard REI trail25. Love the racerback style and the length is great for a short person! (5'3", short torso). Can fit a couple layers and a lunch and it's got the reservoir so it is darn near perfect. A little trouble with the zipper in one of the segments but I think I can use some wax on that and fix it.

Love it

I purchased the aprium purple and a 10L dakine pack to pick one. The osprey is hands down much higher quality, better and more storage areas and pockets, very comfortable and I love the colors! Accurate like the pictures (I was worried the zippers would look brighter orange in person but they do not.) I've never used a hydration pack but the backpack itself is awesome for use with our without the hydration pack it came with and the magnetic holder seems great for the mouthpiece.

Worked perfectly on a hot humid day

Bought this to use in a charity century bike ride. Weather was hot, humid and potentially stormy so needed some way to carry a jacket and food. It was a bit of a risk buying a backpack and using for the first time on a long ride in terrible conditions … but it worked perfectly. I was not sweaty and had no pulling on my shoulders or neck. I trusted that Osprey would work, and it did. The hydration system worked as it should. Overall a big success.

Didn’t fit me correctly

Strange fit for me-I admit that I’m short 5 feet so maybe that was the issue. The shoulder strap fit strangely. The pack was also heavier than I wanted. Lite of pockets tend to do that. Returned it without using.

Great bag! The only downside is there's no pockets for quick access to phone. I had to take off the bag every time I needed to use my cellphone.
