Bring back Sahara tech!!!
Bring back the Sahara tech material! I bought this type of Sahara shirt to replace the Sahara tech shirt that my son wears EVERY DAY in the summer. The tech material has some kind of mesh feel that wicks and dries nicely. This one smothers you in high humidity climates. It does not breathe. My son is wearing his old tech shirts as crop tops until we can find something that works. Had I known they were going away I would’ve bought every size out.
great light shirt, but funky sizing
We own several of the hooded Sahara shirts. My 6 and 8yo boys love wearing them while biking and hiking — I love the higher UPF rating (at least compared to last year’s version). The only issue with this great shirt is the sizing. I initially bought the 8 as both my boys usually wear that size well, but it was way too small (they are above average for height and weight). They vastly preferred the 10/12, which is long on my 6 yo but he likes it that way. These were a great find for us as they both have sensory issues with clothing. If you’re looking at these, definitely size up!
Great all around tee!
I’m sitting indoors on a rainy day in NJ reading a book AND wearing this shirt! I know it’s meant to be a sun shirt but I wear it all the time - sun, shade, exercising, lounging whatever. The fabric is soft and comfy. The Large fits this petite woman perfectly - 5’2” 107 lbs - even when using the thumb holes. The hoodies are equally great for my frame.
Material changes and lower quality
My kids love the Sahara line of shorts in long sleeve, short sleeve and with a hoodie. I buy them every year. However the product changed from 100% polyester to a blend. It also is not thick and does not come with the known waffle pattern. This shirt is your basic poly/blend t that every other store carries for $5-10 dollars. Please bring back the original product.
Can’t find petite sizes? Try kids clothing!
For petite women, try on the kids shirts. Good value and while the fit is not quite perfect, it works just fine for outdoor activities.
Perfect shirt! Soft quality fabric
Great shirt! We got this for an upcoming trip to Utah this summer, where we expect it to get a little cool in the evenings. This material seems like it will wick sweat away - very pleased with the soft, quality fabric. My son is 10 and small for his age. He normally wears a medium (8ish) shirt and I got him the medium (10-12) size. It is a little too big, but it will work and will give him some room to grow.
My teens love
I bought the green one to see if my kids (14 yo boy& 15 yo girl) would like it. They fought over it. It’s super soft and feels so much better than a rash guard. My kids are super fair and lazy about putting on sunblock so this shirt is a great alternative. I just bought another green shirt and one of each of the other colors. We’re all set for summer!

I bought this for my 8 year old daughter for hiking. This is such a fantastic shirt!! It’s incredibly lightweight and airy, has thumb loops, material is soft, fit is perfect, and best of all it’s SPF friendly. The green color is so nice. Buy one in every color!
Returned
Tried the yellow shirt, but returned as the material was see through. The weight of the fabric felt heavy and clingy, as opposed to the male version that’s smooth and more activity friendly. On the positive side the thumb holes were well positioned.
