The Black Diamond Distance 4 running pack is truly outstanding. It features a well-designed, ergonomic construction that offers a snug and comfortable fit, even during long runs. The adjustable straps allow for a customized fit to suit individual body shapes. The pack has a surprisingly spacious main compartment that can easily hold all the essentials like water bottles, energy gels, a phone, and keys. The multiple pockets are strategically placed for easy access to items on the go. In terms of durability, it is top-notch. The high-quality materials used can withstand the rigors of regular running and various weather conditions without showing signs of wear and tear easily. Its sleek and streamlined design not only looks great but also helps reduce wind resistance. Overall, the Black Diamond Distance 4 is an excellent choice for runners who demand functionality, comfort, and durability from their running packs.
I had been wanting to get a running hydration pack for a long time. Finally, I got this one and I love it. It fits great and I don't even feel like I'm wearing it! The flasks make water taste plastically at first but gets better overtime. Otherwise it's been perfect so far. I use for both running and hiking.
I have been using this running vest for about 2 months now. It fits me really well, and I love all the pockets. The hydration bottles are great quality, and easy to drink out of while running. I haven’t tried the pole carry feature yet. The one downside to this vest is the material is a little rough. It would chafe way too much if I had direct skin contact with the vest. It’s causing rough abrasion spots on whatever short I wear underneath.
I did my first long run in the mountains with this vest and I loved it. It was comfortable, had plenty of accessible mesh storage for gloves, a light shell, front water flasks, my phone, and other odds and ends. I used the pole carry and it worked well. It wasn’t any more or less convenient than other pole carrys I have tried, but they did feel secure and didn’t bounce around, which was my primary concern before using it. Going back to comfort, this fit over my average size torso and average bust very comfortably. It’s my first time trying a women’s specific vest and I would definitely lean toward a women’s specific vest going forward based on the comfort upgrade.
For being a women's specific running vest there is definitely not a ton of boob room. I typically wear a size medium or large shirt, 34D. Because of how slim fitting this is the soft flasks are practically in my armpits and they rub when I'm running. Ignoring sizing this vest is awesome! Perfect pockets, holds mid layer that I take off, headlamp, epipen, light snack, InReach, and my phone. Wish sizing was more accurate or more sizes. I think I would label the large as a medium and make more. Might buy mens XL next if the whole 'flask in the armpit' situation annoys me enough. I am confident that I will need a bigger sizer for anything more than a thin base layer this winter.
So far this vest has been great. Really comfortable. It fits well and doesn’t move around a ton. I really like the shorter coverage in the back compared to some larger capacity vests I have. I was worried the pockets would be on the smaller size but I can carry snacks and my phone no problem.
I bought a L size considering the indications that it's smaller of what the chart indicates. COMPLETELY TRUE! It feels well wrap to your body, but if you have a bigger chest/back size, I would recommend to get 2 sizes up to feet well to feel more comfortable and not so tight.
Fits snug and comfortable, even with just a sports bra. I wanted a pack I could use that didn't require me to take it off to access gear. I carry my gloves, spikes, phone, jacket and I want to be able to get things out and put away with little downs time. The stretchy pockets work great. I have not run with the poles yet, but I did practice putting them in the straps and it seems secure and steady. Overall I'm pleased with this minimalist pack. It's been the best solution for winter running on trail.
Loved the color, but I bought the pack specifically for the pole carry option. While I loved the idea of it, it didn’t work for me. Because the bottom pole connector is toward the front side of the vest, it actually cause the vest to pull up on the bottom once the poles were flipped to the back. I used the LEKI Z-poles specific for trail running, so they weren’t especially heavy. I think the idea for the pole carry (connect in front, flip to the back) is fabulous, but would recommend make the connection in the bottom more toward the back so it doesn’t pull the front of the vest up. I’m hoping they come out with a 2.0 version of this vest with the pole connector improved. Oh, and the mesh is a bit scratchy on the pack when it hits the skin on your neck. If we could get softer mesh or a soft fabric that lined the seams…that would be great.
I really wanted to love this pack. I'm 33 inches at my rib line and per the size chart, I should have been at the top end of medium or within a few inches of the large. It felt ok before I started to run, but it quickly started to bounce. I had it cinched all the way down and it was rubbing against my neck and still bouncing. I barely made it through my 16 miles with this pack. Unfortunately, I got it on sale so I'm kind of stuck with it.
