Nice Looking Terrible Wear

I am not a runner and purchased these as a nice looking athletic shoe. I’m happy with the style, but the tread wear is horrible. I’ve only owned the shoes for 3 months and they are worn out in several areas on both left/right. I walk up to a mile per day in them. Appearance 5 stars Durability 1 stars Value 2 stars

Not a big fan

I bought these for a big trip to Japan. I Was planning on anywhere between 4-10 miles of walking each day during a 2 week trip. By the end of the 2 weeks, the tread on the outside is almost completely gone. I’ve had Nike and Hokas that have lasted much longer and cost less. Thumbs up for comfort but big thumbs down for durability. Unfortunately I think I’m a one and done allbirds customer.

Tree Basher

I think you make a very comfortable shoe. This is my third or fourth pair. That said, I believe you spend so much on marketing that you skimp on quality. The cloth near the front of my foot on each of my previous pairs ending up ripping after about a year and the sole would wear out before then. My most recent pair of Tree Dashers 2’s have disappointed so much that I can no longer consider buying your product.. I have owned them for about 2.5 months. I am not a runner but I do walk several miles a day on average. After this short period of time most of the rubber studs on the sole on the left side of my foot are completely worn down such that you cannot even see them. The rest are all showing signs of wear and are not far behind. The area where the studs are completely worn, now feels lower than the rest of the such that my gait feels awkward. See the photos below. I am sorry to say but I think this latest purchase is my last.

Disneyland bound and Fancy Dinner shoes

These shoes do it all… my son wore them for 15 hours of non stop walking and running all day at Disneyland and even more amazing. These shoes went also with a dressy blazer and looked amazing a few days later to a fancy dinner place! OMG… the versatility of these shoes are amazing

I “upgraded” to these from

I “upgraded” to these from Tree Runners because they weren’t providing enough traction on hiking trails (easy to slide in dry conditions). Unfortunately, it wasn’t as much of an upgrade as I anticipated. The traction is much better, and I like that they reduced the heel flare, but the footbed is much less forgiving, which has led to pain after moderate length walks on pavement, something I never experienced after putting several hundred miles on my Tree Runners. In addition, the upper is so constricting that it cuts off my circulation, even after attempting to stretch them out and completely undoing the laces, they are still uncomfortably tight.

I like the shoes but

I like the shoes but one of the grey shoe strings was frayed. Can I get a shoestring replacement?

They hurt my feet

From the styling to the grip of the sole, I really wanted to like this shoe. Unfortunately, there is no tongue, and the shoe is essentially one big elastic sock. After 6 hours of wear, the elastic pressure on my instep becomes unbearably painful, even with the laces fully loosened. I own Wool Runners and Tree Runners in size 11 and they’re great. This shoe in an 11 is too big in the forefoot and lacks lateral support. Size 10.5 fits perfectly but there is the elastic pressure issue. I have typical feet – not wide or narrow, average arch, and not a high instep. I'm still an Allbirds fan, but I won’t be buying this tongueless style again.

Good evolution of the product

This is my third pair of All Birds. Previous pairs lasted about a 12-15 months which is pretty good for me while wearing them 3-4 days a week. I still have them and wear them periodically. I like that they are washable which helps with their durability. The Tree Dasher 2 is more structured than the previous pairs that I have. It feels a little odd that the she doesn't have the typical upper and tongue structure but it works well and the shoe feels snug. Only con is that sole at the heal feels a little wider than it needs to be but they are comfortable. I also like the tread on the bottom which helps when the ground is wet/damp.

Great shoe

Ok, I've owned this shoe for the while now, several months and it is by far my favorite, most versatile option. I got it originally in advance of a vacation. I needed a nice shoe that could be semi formal and also kick it on the Italian coast. It hiked, walked, and trekked the hinterlands and showed up well in a nice restaurant. Since the trip, it's rotated into my daily ware and has become a favorite. I can wear it at work with a tie or in the garden with a giant flimsy hat. Still impressed. Not to mention that it is a sustainable option. This model was the best for me since it offered half sizes.
