If your rainwear is wetting out even after cleaning and drying, we suggest you apply a new coating with a wash-in or spray-on DWR product (not included).

Promising Rain Jacket
Yes , I recommend this product
Just picked this up in store. I compared it to the OR Helium. This fabric inside and out feel better on the REI jacket and for 3 extra ounces it has large pit zips - important if you hike in warmer or humid conditions. Unfortunately it doesn’t pack into its own pocket like the Helium does. Green color is very nice in person. This must be a new offering since I am the first review May 25 2023

Rain jacket

The Rain jacket was perfect. I normally wear a women’s medium but purchased the Large. I wanted to wear thicker layers underneath, that was a good choice.

Stiff zipper
The waterproof zipper on the jacket is very stiff, almost impossible to zip.

Lightweight, high performance
Yes , I recommend this product
This jacket is excellent. I wore it as my shell for an alpine backpacking trip, with very high winds above the tree line. I tend to have issues with ventilation/sweating and then getting cold, and this jacket really did the trick. It's truly waterproof and windproof but also due to the light weight and pit zips it breaths exceptionally well. I hope REI continues to make this in future years, as I'll be hard pressed to find a replacement that comes near to this performance in the future.
