Great pants, but run a little short

These are a great pair of casual softshell pants. Windproof enough for a casual cross-country ski and stretchable enough for the climbing gym. Most surprising though is that they are comfortable enough that I wear them around the house and even brought them on a trip abroad. Medium weight fabric that breaths well and has some basic weather-repellency. Less noisy/swishy than most softshells, though still not as quiet as cotton. My biggest gripe might be a benefit for some people: they run short, almost a full inch shorter than most of my 32x32 pants. This works fine with boots or sandals but looks a little silly with running shoe height shoes.

Stitching coming undone after wearing x2

Love the size and fit of these pants but only after wearing x2 the stitching in the butt is coming undone. For $90 I would expect the quality to be a lot better than this

Comfortable pants for hiking, sizing a bit odd

Used the pants for hiking and general daily use. Material is really comfortable and fit is comfortable for thin people like me. Nice to have 2 secure back pockets, but all 4 main pockets are a little shallow. The 5th thigh pocket is useful although would have been better if slightly larger. My iPhone 12 mini fits but doubtful a larger phone would. Lastly the length is not accurate. I have a 31.5 inch inseam and these pants were 32X32 and over an inch too short.

Too short.

OK, but too short. As other reviewers have mentioned, the quality is good but the fit isn't great. I'd recommend getting a size longer than you normally would or just get the normal AP pants, as they are better. A 30/30 in the original AP pant fits me perfectly. These pants are quite a bit shorter - any shorter and I'd have returned them right away. As it is, I've kept them to wear in the office, but they are too short to wear outside since they aren't long enough to keep debris out of my shoes.

Very disappointed

I previously bought this type of pants a few years ago, and I loved them. I decided to purchase more because they held up well and the fit was good. This round I am less than pleased. 1) The pants are almost an inch shorter than my other ones, despite having ordered the same size. 2) They have a snag after 2 wears. I am a teacher, didn’t even try to hike in them. The other pairs I’ve had for years have zero snags. The new material is inferior and the length sizing is off.

Shallow pockets along with narrow pocket

I like the material of these pants, however as many other reviewers noted, the pockets are an issue. My issue with both the front pocket depth (they are quite shallow compared to all other pants) as well as the width of the right thigh pocket (it's too narrow to fit my phone compared to other MH pants with this pocket). Also, the leg length is shorter than most MH pants I wear.

Falling apart after 3 weeks

I have an older pair that I love, so I decided to buy a second pair. Not sure if I got really unlucky or quality control has gone through the floor over there, but after less than 5 low-impact wears (like, working from home, at a standing desk) all of the belt loops are visibly shredded and the sewing is unsewing itself in multiple places.

Lightweight material but double check the pocket

I like the lighter, stretchier material on these compared to the classic AP pants. Although I really wished they would have kept the right leg thigh pocket the same size as the classic AP pants. I like to carry my phone in this pocket and the pocket on the AP Active Pant is more narrow than my phone, which is a bummer.

Pretty great pant

These are some of my favorite pants for outdoor activities to date. They’re comfortable, breathable, and look great. My only issue l, and the only reason I can’t give them a 5 star review, is because of the pockets. The pockets are way too high and the mesh lining gets snagged on almost everything I put in there. Don’t get me wrong, because the pockets are higher the pockets themselves are deeper, but they’re just way too high up. The color is great and goes with a lot of my gear. The fabric is also tough; I do a lot of hiking and these pants have stood up to the most rigorous trails so far. I’ll be looking to get another pair in a different color, but maybe wait until the pocket situation is fixed.

Versatile Pants

Overall, a great pair of pants that one can use at home, at work, at leisure, or on the trail. First the pockets, two in front or cut a little different, but the more I wore the pants, the more I liked them. The knife pocket is perfect for carrying a phone. Two rear pockets are zipper closed, liked that added security. You may want to verify the pants length by trying them on. Although mine were 36x32, length seemed 31 inches at best. Not an issue (thus 4 star rating) but something to check and consider. I really liked the weight and properties of the material. You can use these pants for pretty much anything, they have the give and flexibility to maximize comfort in any activity. A pair of pants that I use as much as possible.
