I ordered these shoes to wear at work. I only wear them with shorts which we are only allowed to wear when the weather is above 80 degrees. That being said I have worn these shoes less than 20 days since I received them less than six months ago. The right shoe has a loud cracking noise when I walk. And it ruds the ball off my foot. Adidas said it is normal wear and tear. Such a disappointment. I have three other pair of the same shoe and they have been great. And for a company I have supportedy whole life to no longer stand behind their product is such a let down.
Terrex Swift R3 is amazing shoes for out door activities specially for hiking.
I have been hiking for 15 years . I purchased my first most expensive hiking shoe which isn't much but more than what's usually on my feet when hiking . I rolled my ankle twice and this past time I ending up with a fracture. I have never rolled my ankle in my life . These shoes are almost like steel toe all the way around the bottom of the shoe but when I rolled my ankle these shoes kept my foot from moving anywhere but open the ankle up like a bag of potatoe chips giving my foot no play but crushed my ankle . Steer clear !!!!!! I will be meeting with my lawyer today for advice. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THESE ..
Fell apart after only 4 months
I bought these online after reading that they ran small. I ordered 1 size up. Way too big. I tried again with my regular size and they were still too big. I went to a store to try a pair and one size DOWN was the best fit. They’re extremely stiff. A bit big in the heel and toes and a big small throughout the lace section. They’re super stiff so the wrong size is awful. I’m experimenting with different inserts to make them a better fit and feel. The quality and the waterproofing are outstanding. I can spray these with water and they look brand new again. I use these for the dog park daily. Great for mud and snow. Excellent traction and durability. I’m hoping they soften up with time.
I am replacing my 3rd pair in a row of the Terrex Swift R2. I was excited to receive the R3. Size: These are a 1/2 size too big compared to the R2. I have been paying a premium for the R2 with the speed laces. They work beautifully. The R3 description says speed laces, but these are regular shoe strings. Photos attached. Missing a required feature. Still full price. Returned them. Disappointed.
Needs: * Better laces and eyelets (lacing system overall) * More robust soles that also don't squeak like a pack of mice on any industrial floor surface * A little more room in the toebox might be nice
These shoes are great. I wear them specifically for disc golf which means I beat them up quite a bit more than simply hiking/running with them. I have had these shoes for about 1 year and 4 months and have used them specifically for disc golf/hiking and probably use them around 1-2 times every week in the woods/terrain. Positives: -great comfort -fit true to size -great traction -stylish -very waterproof Negatives: -durability (toe region ripping which affects the waterproof nature) -takes about 1 month of good use to break in properly -high price -not much ventilation due to the shoe being waterproof (sweat a lot in the heat) -sole is not flexible All in all, they have been my best pair of trail-running shoes, they've lasted quite a bit longer than similar styles made by other competitors, but they are quite a bit more expensive ($50-$75 more). I definitely recommend these shoes to everyone and if you're using them specifically for disc golf, they will last a long time and I go very frequently, but for me they'll need to be replaced every year and a half with the amount I wear them.
Being a UPS Driver I'm always looking for a shoe that will be comfortable for 10 to 11 hours a day. With walking an average of 18,000 steps a day at work, we will see the durability over time. The treads on shoes almost always go before the support of shoes break down. This pair took 3 days to break in. I've now worn for 5 days and they are very comfortable and seem very durable. I enjoy that they are completely water proof, and walking in water, no higher than the tongue your feet will stay dry. These shoes are also light making it easier to maneuver in and on all the different terrains while working. Overall, very satisfied so far with these shoes.
This is quite a different fit to previous versions. It is wide but I have wide feet so there is no need to stretch the shoes. People said the tongue is aggressive, I think it is fine but the lacing system could be better to provide greater tightness. It is not a deal breaker. I wear insoles so it has taken some time to wear in the shoes so the heel sits well. If the shoes last and remain waterproof for a long time then it will be worth it. My last paid of AX3s had to be returned as the Goretex failed inside without any visible damage outside. I would recommend but accept you will probably need to try 2 sizes to get the right fit
