Great shorts
Shorts are excellent for running, no chaffing, breathable, comfortable, quick drying. I would only buy them on sale though so many things are priced crazily. usually ugly colors go on sale but you run to run not to be fashionable so just remember that folks.

Very Loose Liner
I have two previous pairs of well-worn striders and the latest pair I bought has a very different liner. It was super loose at the leg opening and didn't work for me. I returned and replaced it with the 5" Janji AFO middle short which I love.

Pro Wedgie 5"

I think I have 7 pair of Strider Pros. Love 'em, have been running them for a decade at least. However. The new version, while being lighter and way more airy and comfortable feeling... have 2 massive flaws: First, the liner is way more... loose, I guess? It moves around and bunches up WAY more than in previous versions, and it causes colossal wedgies, still wearing my same old size. Second, the (great) larger phone pocket in back makes the (now far less structured) waistband fold over outward and down, showing the aforementioned droopy liner. Still comfortable, but not attractive. I may try a size down, but if that doesn't remedy things, I'm gone. It was a great ride. But I cannot believe we've "improved" arguably the greatest running shorts ever, into a "meh" option.

Great shorts!

These have been fantastic running shorts for me. I bought two pair in 2019 and between the two, I ran two marathons, 6 halfs, and various races in between since then. Throw in all the training for those, and I'm guessing I've put at least 800 miles per pair in the last 5 years. Just threw out the first pair due to a blown out crotch... gave a nice, hearty salute then went out and bought two more pair.

Excellent as casual swim shorts

I use these as my casual swim and SUP paddling shorts (I hate board shorts and the associated lengths of wet fabric rubbing my thighs). These shorts are just the right length, very light, and they dry fast. The waist sits at the right level, they stay firmly in place with the waist string firmly knotted, the liner keeps things comfortably in place, and the fabric is such that you remain decent even when soaking wet. Way better than any actual casual swim shorts I have ever owned, although obviously not for racing situations where you want a speedo. I am 6'2", 175 lbs, wear size medium.

Slight Differences from Previous Edition

Fabric feels stretchier, lighter / less clingy than previous Strider Pro 5, more minimal brief. I sized down from S to XS and it feels ever so slightly shorter and smaller, but in the same ballpark (so maybe sizing down is recommended?). I'm thinking to use this pair for warm weather and the older size S for slightly cooler stuff or as backup. Overall still the short for me, perhaps improved.

Better fit, more comfort

Much more comfortable than the previous version . The liner fits better but still offers great support.

Short Shorts That Make You Run Fast

I used to run cross country back in high school, then I got more interested in herbs than running once college came around. Now that I'm in my early 30's I'm trying to up my activity outside of the occasional hike, bike ride and rock gym sessions. Running is fairly low commitment and easy to fit in on the days that the bigger activities can't. These shorts make it easy. The material is great, the length is ideal, there's a mesh netting that keeps you modest. There are numerous pockets to tuck gels and snacks and such, but I'm currently working on my mile splits, so they're unused for now. The zip pocket on the back is ideally placed and keeps my keys safe without being obtrusive. Now I just need a few more pairs.

Best Shorts I Own!

These running shorts are genuinely the best shorts I’ve ever tried. The material is super lightweight and silky, the liner isn’t bulky or irritating, and I have yet to have any chafing while wearing these. The pockets are super neat because they are designed in a way that makes it less likely that anything will fall out when you’re moving. I highly recommend these.
