Cannot transmit HR via BT. Only ANT+
Rowing
If you need to transmit HR via BT this is not the watch for you. The watch can communicate with your phone via BT but only passes the HR signal via ANT+. If your phone or device doesn't support ANT+ you will not be able to send the data directly to an app. You have to spend more for the Sq 2 music or one of the Venu 2 round versions to get that feature in the Venu series. On the positive side it can accept HR from an external device such as a chest strap or arm band. None of the Sq 2 versions will count stairs as there is no sensor for elevation. Otherwise it is a fine watch for the price and likely a better overall value compared to a Versa or Sense depending on features needed. No data is locked behind a paywall. Compare features via the Garmin site to ensure it has the features you need. Unfortunately I have to return this version as I need the BT HR transmission capability for my phone and water rower. This watch does have a profile for indoor rowing if that is something that is important.

Venu 2 square watch won' turn off unless you do a hard reset and then when you turn it back on it won't connect to blue tooth.

Good , but I Wish…

I “treated” myself and as an Early Christmas Present, purchased a Venue Sq2 . I like it a lot , but.. wish it came with a more thorough set of instructions on how to. After about a month using, I feel I have only scrapped the surface in figuring out how to use tge many features: The How to guide is so brief: Does not cover how to turn on- off certain features: does not describe how to use work out-weight lifting multiple sets.. a bit frustrating. Some much good technology packed into one little watch.. I just wish you would have taken the time and care to document functions features & how to’s for those of us who are not programmers.

Sleek Design

Upgraded from the Forerunner 55. Has a lot more stats plus I like the design with the touch screen. Def a plus. I can read full texts vs the 55 I could maybe get a couple of words in the text but if it was a group text I might as well look at my phone since I couldn't get past the names. The watch is pretty easy to use but I am getting a hang of it when i go on runs. Accidentally deleted a part of my run when I stopped the watch to wait at the stop light and the touch screen delete button was accidentally pressed when I was starting back running. Think there should be a feature to say "Are you sure?" before so it doesn't just disappear in a blink of an eye.

Excellent multi use watch

There is a reason that I have been a Garmin user for so many years. Excellent products and excellent after sales service. I have owned 3 Garmin watches. The Venu SQ 2 is my favorite so far. The battery life is exceptional. I have a busy life and don’t want to deal with charging my watch every day. The size and format of the SQ 2 makes it an elegant sport watch. It is not difficult to navigate once you get hang of it. It is an excellent golf watch. The only reason that I did not give it a perfect score was that it lacks the phone features of several of its competitors . Even so, it is rich in other features which makes it a product to be seriously considered.Q

Love my Garmin Venu Sq 2!

I am a former Fitbit customer. I had a Fitbit One for years and loved it but decided to upgrade and got the Fitbit Sense. I had it for a year when it died. It annoyed me that it only lasted a year but I liked it so I bought another one. That one died just after the 45-day period to get a refund. Fitbit sent me a replacement which also died. After 4 dead replacements, I gave up on Fitbit and bought the Venu Sq 2 and could not be happier. The watch is beautiful, has lots of great features (more than the Fitbit Sense) and the battery lasts well over a week before having to charge it. So far, I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend the Venu Sq 2.

I like it! (replaces a Forerunner 35)

Christmas present to myself. Many more features than I will ever use, but that's OK. I like the bright color display - still getting used to the "wrist twitch" to activate the display (sometimes I can't get it to work). I really like that I can change the watch face (BUT there doesn't seem to be any "high visibility" faces for us senior citizens who are post cataract surgery with close vision issues - hopefully this will be address in a future up-date? FWIW, the display on the Forerunner 35 was ideal.) Conventional wrist band attachment - a worthwhile improvement. Good battery life. Lots to like in the Venu SQ 2.

Awesome watch!!

I bought this watch about a month ago because of the features it has. My history is stage 4 breast cancer that has spread to my lungs. I am always monitoring my vitals as it is a good indicator if the chemo is doing the job or if I need to be switched to something else. With this watch I can do just that while I’m on the treadmill or at work. It monitors my whole day/night/sleep. Then I just go to the app on my phone and review everything….very convenient. I know there is still much more to learn as there are many features I haven’t touched yet. There are online videos and instructions to help and I have been using them. Overall, great watch! Glad I purchased!

It’s ok

I made the switch because I needed a watch that could stay on longer without a charge. It does just that. It is annoying to go in and set each rep during my Pilates. I much rather prefer it just take the 50 minute workout as for what it is. Instead I have to go in and try to remember each move during workouts. I don’t want to hit the side of the watch to set my reps. That is just annoying and not natural for reformer and chair Pilates. I’m going to keep it. It does what I want long charge. I think the stress monitoring is unusual and useless in my opinion and body charge feature. I deleted it off the watch. It just gets in my head and makes me feel like I should rest when I am fine.

Amazing phone but it keeps disconnecting my notifi

I’ve had my watch for over six months and I love it! I’d give it a 5star review except for the fact that every time my phone disconnects from the watch (ie everytime I take my dog outside and leave my phone in the house), it doesn’t reconnect my notifications. I have to completely remove the device in the app and set it back up. This is so frustrating! I’ve updated all apps, phone, etc but no improvement. Please fix this because this watch is amazing otherwise. It’s so helpful at tracking workouts, the info has helped me improve my sleep, and manage my stress (aside from reconnecting my phone daily).
