955 Solar
Bought in 2023, I loved using it but not the watch now keeps saying "battery to low to connect to wifi" even when fully charged so I cant refresh any playlists. On various forums other users have said the same issue without any resolution. I can't get hold of garmin service team so they clearly don't care. Now stuck with a watch that doesn't have full functionality
Stylish and full of data
I bought this a month ago as I have begun getting deeper into marathon training…. I wanted something that offered me an all in one package.. and the Garmin Forerunner 955 does exactly that… No need for a million different apps to train and track… Plus the battery life is amazing… it’s only had to sit on the charger once over the last month… I haven’t had a chance to really see the solar charging work, as it’s been pretty gloomy since fall hit… I love the white with black accent color.
A great watch for running metrics
My Garmin 645 music case broke where the pin holds the watch band so I bought this the weeks of Christmas. It offers all the metrics for running I like to monitor. There are some many features, I am still learning three weeks later. I love looking at the morning report it generates each morning when you wake up to gauge your sleep and training readiness.
Perfect watch for Multisport
I upgraded from a 945 and I couldn't be happier besides the fact that it allowed me to re-purpose my quick release band and bike mount from my old 945 (that was a must option for me) the new touch screen and solar options made my life really easy and I can definitely attest for the more accurate measures. So I am in Love with my 955 Solar.
The BEST watch!!
I had a Vivoactive for over 10 years and I spent months looking into its replacement. I wanted a watch that could support my active lifestyle, was stylist but super functional and long lasting. The 955 Solar (Forerunner) is the best watch I could have have ever asked for. I swim 2-3 miles/week, run 10-15 miles/week, and bike between 15-30 miles/week and this watch definitely keeps up. The only thing I wish it tracked better was my swim distance during my kick sets (has stroke detection so when not using your arms it doesn’t track) but the watch has built in music so you can listen to music without running or carrying your phone. Overall, very satisfied with this watch. Send me another for FR$$ :)
Bug in the display
The watch generally is great and indeed you feel the upgrade from previous models. One comment is about the phone connection. On the watch display is shows permanently that the phone is disconnected while it is connected and possible to receive notifications. Might be software bug or so.

Great lightweight option for bio data collection
I waited until the first time the battery fully drained to review this product - and wow did it take a while. My first charge was 22 days after I put it on. The app syncs perfectly so far, and I love the watchface options and apps you can download. I get the same information that I would with the Whoop I had, with less bugs and hardware issues and a much longer battery life. Add in the GPS, solar charging and emergency options for when you’re off grid and this watch is significantly better than other options on the market. It’s waterproof, very durable and you can review your data on the watch or on the app/pc. It’s my new favorite so far!
Great athletic recording features but poor smart w
I bought this smart watch because I am a long distance runner and wanted to have the best metrics possible to record my workouts. It was great for that, but ultimately I returned it because I needed a watch that has cell service. Also the interface is very weak, doesn't have a lot of smart features and the screen doesn't get very bright, plus there are very little apps you can use on it and you can't cycle through them on the watch screen. The GPS is great and the workout tracking is great, but I just had to go with the Samsung watch pro because the smart watch features are much better and I'm able to make calls and texts without having to carry my phone.
Thank you for posting a review we appreciate the feedback. We are sorry that you returned the device. My first running watch
I bought this because I'm starting to get heavy into running and it's perfect for that. I googled "best Garmin running watches" and this was at the top of the list so I went for it. The screen is a little on the bigger side for my small wrist. I like that I'm not reliant on a bulky phone for music or to keep track of my runs. I like that it shows me my pace because I'm all over the place and working on getting it consistent. The only thing I wish was different (besides the size) is the ability to message my siblings my run (and not a link) like I did when I was using the "map my run app" because we have a competition going.
Forerunner 955 solar
I’ve had it for 2 months. The map feature is nice. Not quite as bright as I expected but sufficient. The watch charges really good when you’re biking. Not as good while hiking/walking but still does- the angle to the Sun I’m guessing? I had trouble when we went to Europe and entered different time zones. I tried syncing with WiFi but couldn’t get it to automatically adjust even though it is set up that way in my settings and wouldn’t align like my iPhone automatically did. Had to manually change the times. I don’t use the running features but there are quite a few for training. Overall I really like the look and features of the watch and am happy with my purchase.
