Very low profile, pretty warm, light and packs down small. But very, very fragile. I had it one week, and on a trail run I passed a bit close to a branch that dragged - not hard - across my shoulder; it tore the fabric in two places and snagged it in two others. I've got it patched with GearTape now, but that's disappointing in my new (and expensive) Patagonia jacket.
This hybrid jacket doesn’t work well for outerwear since the R1 Air material goes past the armpit all the way to the wrist leaving my arms cold in even the slightest cool breeze. As a midlayer this isn’t a problem. It would have been fine if the RI Air had stopped under the armpit and left the Nano Air to take care of the arms, proving more wind resistance.
It's my favorite garment. Fits snug. Comfortable. I wear it year round.
