My son loves them

Received free product

These pants are great. My 11-year-old son loves them (size 10-12). He says they’re really comfortable, and the waist fits him well. He just tightens the drawstring a bit and ties a bow and he’s good to go. A lot of pants have huge waists that we have to roll once to make tighter, even with a drawstring. The fabric and material feel sturdy and lightweight. The knees are reinforced which is key as my son destroys the knees in all of his pants. My son loves the pockets (especially the cargo pocket on the right leg), and the little loop on the waist comes in handy for clipping a compass or magnifying glass when we go hiking. My only criticism would be that the length fits just right now, but I don’t see them being long enough when he is 12-14 years old. I can tell though that the next size would be way too big in the waist. Highly recommend these pants!

Great hiking pants for a kid that hates pants

Received free product

My 4 year-old usually prefers shorts and resists getting “too hot” in long pants. But these give just enough protection without too much warmth. The best part is the ability to shed water. After falling in mud and throwing rocks in a creek, the splashes didn’t penetrate the fabric and he didn’t get super wet. The fit is comfortable, but we found the waist to be a little large. The pants stay up while being active but we have to cinch the waist band a little. Overall great outdoor pants for active kids.

Awesome pants for active kids

Received free product

My son is an active child. From playing football or basketball with friends to running local 5k trail races, he is always getting dirty and wearing through his clothes. These pants were durable like jeans but loose fitting like joggers. He was able to run, jump, and play like he does in his regular athletic clothing. These are true to size (he’s an 8), great looking natural green color, and great fit. My son said they are very comfortable, didn’t get hot like leggings, and he liked how they look. These are great pants and I highly recommend them to anyone with an outdoor and/or active kid!

Great pants

Really rugged, lightweight pants that are perfect for adventuring. Kids loved them on our Alaskan cruise and they look good too!

Wonderful outdoor everything pants!

Received free product

My kid loves these pants. They are super comfortable, water resistant, and durable He's worn them on hikes, camping trips, and city wanderings and calls them his favorite pants. They do run a bit long, so had to roll them up, but I do like the drawstring tie that holds well on his hips. I would recommend them!

Amazing pants for any outdoor adventure

Received free product

Great pair of pants for a 6 year old kid for any kind of outdoor adventure. Our daughter found them to be comfortable and they certainly look/feel like they'd be very durable. Tested in the woods, on the hiking trail, and on a gravel/muddy driveway they seem to repel water/dirt reasonably well and protect the legs from random scratches. Double-layer knee feature is great and will hopefully delay the appearance of the inevitable "holes on the knees". Unfortunately woodland olive green color does not (for now) agree with my daughter's fashion taste. If she refuses to wear them again on the trail they will definitely be saved for our son who is couple of years younger.

Great tech pants for kids

Received free product

My son loves the pants. He says they are very comfortable. They do a great job blocking the wind. It is very easy to move around and be active in them since they stretch a little bit and are light weight. They are by far his favorite pants right now.

Great pants for your older kid

Received free product

My son is 10 and this is the third generation we've had of the mountain maker pants and it is far better than the second generation. It retained a lot of the really great features - lightweight, reinforced knees, stylish (for a kid). It also added some great new ones - the zip side pocket for example, which my son said was both cool and excellent because the zipper didn't catch on the fabric. I think that fit of the pants is also much better than the previous generation of the pants as well: they are more boxy/roomy and less fitted through the hips. This is especially good because in the last version of the pants, the thread on the seams started to come undone after 3-4 hard play dates and washes. The only reason I can't give these five stars is that the draw string is a little tricky for a younger kid, and my son ended up with it tied in a knot at the end of the day. That's probably not the case for 13 year old, but since these are likely to be worn by kids younger than that, I'd still have preferred a bungie cord with a fastener to a draw string. I'd also suggest trying them on before buying them because I'm not sure about the sizing. My son is 5' and about 90 lbs. and the size Large is the right length but too big around the waist; in the previous generation, however, he the medium was too tight around the waist which is why I ordered the Large this time. Other than the draw string waist, I'm really happy with these pants so far and think they are much better than previously.

great pants for active kids!

We love these pants for my kiddo and his forest school adventures. They are soft and not-restrictive. They are easy to layer over base layers. Plenty of pockets. We found them true to size. My kiddo is almost 5 and in XS/5T sizes.
