Great for the Kryptonite NY mini
It's almost like they designed it for the Kryptonite NY mini. It fits like a glove.
It's like a steel-jawed bear trap, for your lock
Pros: The pouch looks good and fully covers your lock. With a generous amount of velcro, the flap is not going to come open accidentally and let the lock come out by accident (more on that later). Tons of attachment points on the back means you'll be able to strap it just about anywhere. Feels sturdy. Cons: Due to the facts that the U shape of the lock has some kind of very grippy silicone-rubber coating, and the pouch is pretty snug, and the internal pouch material has a lot of friction with the rubber coating, it is very difficult to get the lock in, and a herculean effort to get it out. You'll never, ever, be able to remove the lock with one hand. You'll have to hold the bottom of the pouch with one hand, and yank and wiggle the lock with the other hand for a couple of minutes to slowly work it out of there. I could lift the entire front half of my e-bike holding the lock with it stuck in the pouch, wiggle it around, bounce it up and down, and still the lock would seem to be no further free of the pouch than it was when I started. I think the pouch would rip in half if I used my full strength to try to pull it out one handed. Did they even test the lock and the pouch together? They either didn't test this, or they did test it and decided to just send it like this anyway; both are unacceptable. They are totally unworkable together without modification*. They really have you over a barrel for how to carry this thing though, it is pretty uniquely shaped as far as locks go, so it's not going to work well (or at all) with generic holding solutions. *Some good news: if you wrap the entire U part of the lock in electric tape it eliminates the grippyness and you can insert and remove the lock easily. It should go without saying, you should not have to do this.
Satisfactory
The pouch attaches to my bike fine, just make sure that it is comfortable to use when you ride it. It is a little bit larger than the D1000 (obviously) and the lock has a very snug fit.
Perfect lock storage for people with Hiplok D1000!
The Hiplok D1000 Carry Pouch is a game-changer for carrying my bike lock around. Its versatile attachment options mean I can easily switch between mounting it on my bike or belt. The material is durable and water-repellent, perfect for unexpected rain. Quick access to my lock without the bulk is a major plus. Only wish it came in more colors! Would recommend this I also wish that they made a bracket for the lock instead of this pouch lol.
fits the lock. fits the bike
The particular D1000 Carry Pouch that I received fits the particular D1000 lock I have perfectly. It drops in without any fuss, stays snug, comes out without any issue. Don't know if there is pouch-to-pouch variation or if they tweaked the design
